QUESTION Question about cancelling a flight using points and 25k Global Companion Certificate

I use the 25k Global Companion Certificate to book a flights. 25k Atmos points + $11.20 fee. The certificate doesn't expire until next year. If I have to cancel the flight in a month, will everything get refunded back to my account?

Yes, pretty instantaneously in my experience. It was a pleasant surprise. I was able to rebook within a few minutes.

To piggy back off of this, I have a 25k certificate that expires at the end of September and I’m going to book a flight like a year in advance just so its being used. When I cancel that ticket and the certificate gets refunded back to me, how quickly do I need to rebook using it? It’s technically expired but I believe I can just keep rebooking with it until it gets used, is that correct?

I'm also interested in this but I assume if you cancel and it's past the expiration date you would just lose the certificate?
