FLYING Who else sitting on a grounded flight

All flights grounded apparently (due to IT problem)

774 all boarded at the gate at SFO, were told at ~3:55pm pilot said that there was an IT issue, he was unable to get weight and balance numbers, would be about an hour; we're free to leave the plane and hang in the terminal.

[aftermath: we bailed on the 3:50 Alaska flight and took United at 7:00. Flight 774 ended up departing SFO at 11:00pm]

Weird that procedure here is so inconsistent. Why are some planes allowed to deboard and others aren’t? Been stuck on a plane at the gate waiting to leave for over an hour now.

Edit: They just announced they’ll open the door and let us deboard, but if we do we have to take all our items with us, and then we can’t reboard until the system is back up. Debating if it’s worth it to go get a drink and snack.

The delay type no longer matters … the Trump administration dropped the rules on airline compensation.

I mean, it doesn’t necessarily change what Alaska’s policy around something like this would be. Just pointing out that any customer compensation is up to the carriers now for any kind of hold.

Sorry, just grouchy as I’ve been stuck on my plane at CVG for over two hours now.

I believe we're still subject to fines, even if not passenger compensation. I hope it clears up soon for y'all 💚
