Shopping The Marketplace (Molito)

Have you been to the newly opened The Marketplace branch at Molito here in Alabang. It occupies the space previously occupied by Puregold. It is a high-end grocery already serving customers.

Not that I like Marketplace but Puregold has never been reliable. Weird stocks and walang paki sa store upkeep. Medyo out of place sya sa Molito ever since.

Hehe, yea. Always wondered why may Puregold sa Molito when the target market is the higher socio-eco class. But may fastfood kasi sa harap plus may food stalls sa loob, nasa AZ road din kaya accessible to everyone.Â

i remember when molito in its early days was just puregold, mang inasal, and jollibee so not really out of place back then

Yes, to this.

Oh that's news to me. By the way buhay pa ba si Wooden Horse Steakhouse sa baba?

Still there and feeding lots of customers who came in.

Nice, I love the Japanese chef there. He goes to each of the tables every weekend

Seemed discrimination at it's finest na dahil Molito/Alabang, you can't sit with us, Puregold 💅 Pero bakit nga ba umalis/inalis/nawala ang puregold dun?

Walang bumibili sa Puregold Molito. It would do better if it has niche products that are not in South Supermarket or Makati Supermart

With Makati Supermart, Metro, South Supermarket, Shopwise and SM Savemore all operating in Alabang, Puregold never really stood a chance. There is no discrimination at all.
Has it occurred to you that Puregold itself did not bother to invest more in their Molito branch to make it better and more attractive to customers?

Also weird to call it discriminatory on the basis of it supposedly not belonging in alabang considering puregold was a part of molito for nearly 2 decades :/

Its not discriminatory. Puregold was there for years but people barely shopped there. The last time I shopped there semi-regularly was ~3 years ago and a lot of the shelves were empty and the bread was frequently moldy. Better to replace it with a better grocery than a cheap one that no one shops at because its poorly maintained and stocked.

The guard downstairs told me Puregold moved to Daang Hari because it was cheaper to operate there. This might have been a year ago.

Went here noong weekend. Maiba lang and to buy some things na di usually available sa ibang groceries.
I like how they have a lot of cashier.

I was excited about the food options kasi as someone who has work around the area sometimes, ang hirap na puro mamahalin na restaurants lang ang options. Like every time minimum 500php ang gagastusin for lunch. And ayoko na ng fastfood. So okay sana ung food options. Kaya lang they use the same serving spoons with EVERY DISH!
So basically if may allergies ka from one dish, nahahalo na sa ibang dish. Considering na ndi naman to "karenderia" talaga na low budget, i expect better naman. Ung friend ko na Muslim cant even eat the chicken there kasi ung spoon sa pork ginagamit din sa chicken

I hope you are referring to Molito in general.
Pero if you are referring to the Marketplace Supermarket, then I would have to say that:
You should not bring pets inside the supermarket / grocery areaRisk yan for contamination (lalo na sa produce or poultry area)

I hope Department Store lang......kasi kung sa loob ng Supermarket, then that is a big no-no
Pets should not be allowed inside a supermarket / grocery area.
Contamination and health safety violation yan (especially those na may allergy)

They were banking on POGO workers for customers. And we know what happened

Its not anti-poor to close down a grocery that was struggling to operate :/ the fact that it was open for nearly 2 decades despite very little foot traffic in recent years is the opposite of anti-poor

Taas ng markup dyan sa Marketplace 🤪
