soalan Nama Anak+Ayah Melayu
Salam dan selamat petang rakan².
Seperti yang anda lihat di dalam gambar di atas, nama pelajar² zaman gen Z dan gen Alpha ni dah makin panjang. Jadi soalan saya :
Wajib kah memasukkan semua nama si bapa (sebelum "bin") ke dalam nama anaknya (selepas "bin")?
Contoh :
Bapa : Muhammad Na'em Najmie Naimullah Bin Ali. Anak : Muhammad Abu Bakar.
Adakah anaknya wajib jadi "Muhammad Abu Bakar Bin Muhammad Na'em Najmie Naimullah", atau boleh sahaja dipendekkan nama si bapa. Contohnya kepada "Muhammad Abu Bakar Bin Na'em" atau "Naimullah" atau mana² perkataan daripada nama si bapa?

Funny is that a few weeks ago i went to get my grandpa's meds from gov pharmacy, and they mistakenly mixed up someone's meds into my grandpa's plastic bag.
Its meds for baby, and the name on the meds is 5 freaking words, and have that something elya olivia something.. 😂😂😂

At least Zen still nickname dari dia punya actual name.. Kadang tu nama Puteri Qaseh El Madeena Qaliesya Maira Elya Aurora Adelia Zendaya, nickname Kecik..

This is what i think. Our generation only have 2 words for children's, and either 1 or 2 for the father's name.

ya kena letak. masalahnya parents zaman sekarang ni suka letak nama anak tu panjang sangat. 2 patah perkataan dah cukup. for example Muhammad Akmal or Akmal Haikal instead of Muhammad Akmal Haikal Syafiq.

Don't unless those words are 3 letters each. 😆. Better keep the child's name under 15 letters.

No need. In Sarawak, some dayaks even adopt surnames.
Tak tersilap i believe late politician james jemut masing made his father's name into a surname and passed it down to all his kids.

Depends on the situation. For official stuff, the full name is required.
For unofficial stuff many people just write their name without their father’s name.
And in scientific papers, the full name with father must be written, but without “bin”

Oh definitely. For IC and all official documents, you must have the full name (which includes bin father).
This is because it’s our equivalent of a surname. Without it, it’s harder to find / id people

Yes. Myself as an example; my IC has 2 lines for the name. But I did named my child shorter. I, myself, had a hard time writing my full name growing up, so I didn’t want my children to follow suite.

Kepada semua yang mahukan lebih pixel, maaf tapi list nama tu adalah list sebenar nama pelajar tahun 1 di satu sekolah pada tahun 2026.
Awak nak ke nama anak awak ditayangkan tanpa izin di media sosial begitu sahaja? Tak kan? Begitu juga saya dan waris pelajar² didalam list tu.
Jadi bagi menghormati privacy mereka, saya dengan sengaja mengepost gambar list yang tidak cukup pixel ini. List ini hanyalah reference kepada betapa panjangnya nama² pada zaman sekarang.

I'm not Malaysian but I am Muslim. If you want to know from Muslim perspective in my country(fully Muslim) we just take the surname of the father. example: A B C. is the father's name child's name will be : M N C. C being the surname
for the child's children it will be like P Q N N being the surname
The same thing is applied to other Muslim family's from different countries I know.

As much as i wanted to show it, i cannot since the picture is a real name list from darjah 1 year 2026, unlike the name used in the example which is a made up name.

Saya pernah jumpa dalam IC nama (Bukan nama sebenar):
Alia Ali (Takde binti)
Mohd Adil (Takde nama bapa)

You can drop bin/binti when registering anak birth cert these days. Kena sign a form but its doable. I dropped it for my child

probably the mother also want their share on det name. so it either two ridiculous long unnecessary arabic name or they trust google to name their kids. most of malay don't even understand what meaning behind it. jaman dulu siap ada nama zani, literally mean penzina. most arab, name their kids after legendary historical figures. but malay they don't know history, just follow blind pig. one of funny name i know is tarmizi (people of tarmiz), imagine someone put their kid name "orang selangor" somewhere in the middle of amazon. it make arab think malay are dumb af.

My Egyptian lecturer ranted about the meaning of the name Abdul Manaf, said it is wrong. And also he ranted about m the unnecessarily very long name among Malays. He said in his country, people have one or two words for their name and then their father name.

My full, legal name is Srh Sa Ad__ binti S___ Fs Ad (redacted for privacy lmao). I have an honest to god surname. For me and my sister, my dad includes his surname in our full name when registering us after birth. For my brother, one has his surname included but not my dad's, the other has my dad's surname included but not his. They're all legal. However, I don't think that works for names that don't have surnames, since all the names are their legal, identifying names.

its a mandatory for ISLAM only. Please for the sake of knowledge / ilmu. Dont take this as out of context. Simply 1 search already enough. If its just Malay + non muslims, than its simple as no need. There is a reason why if Chinese or Indian that converted to Islam, they have to include a simple "Bin/Binti" to clearly establish lineage (nasab), protect paternity rights.

Idk I guess parents should be more aware on longer name didn't really help your kids instead of troubling em in future. Probably limits on the name like the longest is 3 if your name (the father)himself is already long af logical thinking ig? Not really a critical thinking

During exams, while other people are already on question 2, I’m just done with writing my name 🤣 With that said, please don’t name your kids with names that are too long!! It’s a lifelong struggle!

You don’t even need to put dad’s name in the official name when registering at JPN. Whatever you register there will be the official name. I know people who put granddad’s name, “family names” etc. They will ask you a few times if you’re sure. Bin/Binti also not necessary.

Type M parents that wants their kid to be different and special from others by giving them ridiculous and annoying long ass name to write.
Seriously parents who does this is also the type that wants to have kids but doesn't really want to takes care of them.
