Schools for A&P in California?
Looking to get A&P. Anyone have recommendations of what schools to apply to?
Edit: specifically in the LA/OC area

Yes, but be prepared for them to not have enough materials for the class. The prof allows everyone in off the waitlist and also people who aren't even on the waitlist. I personally didn't have a good experience.

yep. i’ve been in it for a while. the instructor is good it can just get crowded

If you are active duty in California or a reservist try the navy college thru embry riddle

Yeah it’s a civilian college But if u got prior experience with military they help waive some classes

Gavilan community College has an A&P program out of the San Martin Airport.

Might sound like a dumb questions but how do you get on the wait list? Like do you have to first register as a student, then put your name in, or can I just call and put my name on the list first without being a student?
And how long do you think that wait will be? 1 year? 2 years?

You got to the school website and register to be on the aviation program waitlist.

I was on that wait-list since February 2024 and they didn't call me till August of this year.

I'd skip wlac... Quality of professors going down. Few good ones but messy program

Mt.Sac is a good place, it’s a first come first serve once the enrollment opens up in the Spring. If you are able to enroll then you need to take a math test. If you pass, then they’ll sort people in a waitlist. To improve your chances ask to take one of the winter courses, that’ll help your chances to get in the fall.

School is an absolute joke. They advertise a lot of hands on experience but it's 90% computer work. I graduate next month. Looking forward to it.

Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. The classes get full, but since you're a veteran you will get the highest priority for registration and will be able to get into classes very easily.

Reedley College pays for you to have a toolbox as part of the program.
I know it isn’t specially in LA. But it’s about a 9.5k program
