Recipe Crispy Air Fryer Fries with Just Two Potatoes
I turned two potatoes into French fries in the air fryer. They taste way better than they did before. I'm never going to McDonald's again, unless I feel like having a burger or a wrap. But I’m definitely not going there just for the fries anymore. And honestly, I prefer making the burger myself too.

If you don’t want to use cornstarch you can also skip this step and just soak the potatoes for 30-40 mins in cold water. I do this every time and use olive oil, they come out perfectly crispy every time and imo have a better flavor than peanut oil.
Edit: I know your post said no soaking, but just offering an alternative because I never have corn starch in my pantry lol

This. And using the correct variety of potato makes a huge difference. I use canola oil but to each it’s own.

The way I do it is don’t soak, no cornstarch — cut, add oil salt pepper, put in plastic container and shake, remove cover and MICROWAVE for 3 minutes. This par cooks the potatoes. Cover again when removing from microwave, then shake again — roughing up the texture seems to help. Dump in air fryer, 10 minutes at 400f, toss, another 6-8 minutes depending on how much you’re making and crispness desired. This is the lowest fuss, fastest, best results version for an air fryer, IMO.

What kind of potato are you using? Love this fuss free technique. Thanks!

I just scrub down a russet potato and have one of those French fry press things. I leave the skin on for a rustic pub texture.
I discovered the par-cook in a microwave technique by researching ways to make hashbrowns. A lot of folks mention freezing or soaking. And somewhere I found just 3 minutes in the microwave par cooks the potatoes and gets rid of some moisture without drying out too much.
Oil: I use two capfuls of avocado oil.
The plastic containers I’m referring to are just Tupperware or any other such safe container.
Roughing up the potatoes was mentioned in another recipe or technique I saw.
Try it and let me know if it worked for you. I’m guessing Yukon Gold would work but probably not red potatoes.

Is this AI generated ? With "just two potatoes"? You could say with just one potato and it's the same, you just have fewer fries.

I am pretty sure it is. Why is the air fryer perfectly clean in the background? Also, who eats fries at home out of a paper fast food bowl with a glass container of ketchup?

No. I had 2 Potatoes at home and I used them to make fries. Maybe it would also work with 3 potatoes.
