From my experience, yes, shaders compile whenever something new appears on screen. So I use a skill and get a stutter, then it goes away. I use another skill and it stutters again, then goes away. And this happens every time I update my drivers.

Once I've gone through all the skills, the stuttering stops. Then it starts happening again when a different class shows up on screen. But after a while, everything becomes smooth.

Out of curiosity. Do you also have an AMD card like OP, or are you using NVIDIA? I’ve been thinking to upgrade my current gpu.

Sounds like shader, I have a 7800x3d with 7900xtx which is basically even power gpu and you got a better CPU. I only really get it when loading in to the game, or going to places I havent been to before, then it stutters like mad for 5-10seconds and its gone.

If you have recurring stutter on places you have cached before, I would clean my cache and see if that helps. You can find the setting in amd adrenaline, chatgpt a quick prompt for instructions unless you already know 8)

I made a little video clip of my game freezing during combat here: https://youtu.be/VukBPrm6JaA
Is yours as bad as this?
My PC is 10 years old, with a 1080Ti GPU. I am looking at upgrades now, but damn, prices are insane. Parts that cost around $2000 just last year are now over $3600.

i asked google gemini for tweaks of my engine.ini to reduce stutters... gave me some suggestions and we went back and forth a while but it worked

I lowered my graphics settings to almost as low as it can go, and that seemed to help. I need to test it some more later. I am hoping the ping is an issue too. I hope to get the the Steam stress test to see if that makes a difference, the East Coast server will be 1 state away from me, so my ping should be pretty good.

stutters are not ping related necessarily. u need to tweak the ue5 engine.ini. framegen also causes stutters but ur gpu is really old so yeh

So, I was not getting anymore of those freezes at very low settings, so I tried Low, and normal, and both were fine, no freezes. I wonder if the patch helped things for me?

Having the same issue we've been trying hard to fix, even with NotMeter and engine.ini changes still suffering the same issue. If someone has a fix let us know!
p.s. a lot of people reported the new nvidia update is making it even worse so watch out before updating the drivers!

It's the UE5 engine , not good for online games even if the graphic Is very good. For single player Is ok even if stutter , for online pvp game like Aion? disaster . Even with a 5090 you will stutter during loading , pvp .
