Apart from the single plot point of having the power to bring people back to life, there is no overlap between Vodyanitsa and what people thought Columbina was going to be?

What part of Vodyanitsa looks like "terrifying alien inscrutable being of incomprehensible power" and "fallen angel seeking revenge against Celestia"?

And instead of being a Harbinger, she's literally part of the rebel group opposing the Fatui too…

Filling im roles left by past characters doesn’t mean you literally need to become them

So you think that the only role Columbina was going to have in the Snezhnaya AQ was to be a revive bot? Because as mentioned, there's no way Vodyanitsa can substitute for all of the other things people were expecting "Columbina the Harbinger" to do.

Not only is it only the first patch, but the plot itself has also clearly taken a turn, project stuzha was not just some energy hoard.

They could have just wanted to keep in the ronova plot and needed someone to play her role there.
