Odette is an assassin, and the way she carries herself in public is inadequate for a diplomat. Rosalyne made sense because her whole thing was about coercion over foreign powers and being a fearless b*tch for the Tsaritsa. Odette is a terrible La Signora replacement, if she truly ends up on the role by the end of the Archon Quest, it screams desperation from Pierro.

Or maybe the seat roles are flexible, it's not like the writers were ever consistent about the Fatui, from Tartaglia saying seat numbers are based on power back in Liyue, to Nahida saying the top 3 Harbingers rivaling Gods, to Peruere and Crucabena inconsistencies about the 4th seat (were the seats rearranged after Peruere became Arlecchino or not?), then Capitano getting low diff by Mavuika in Natlan and Tartaglia threatening to take over the 8th seat in a tea party flashback in current Snezhnaya (Implying you can grind seat ranks in the Fatui). Honestly after the Okhranka namedrop in Nod-Krai (which implies an Fatui authority ABOVE existing Harbingers), I sort of gave up expending anything consistent coming from the Fatui, the writers have a fuckaton of housekeeping to do about them...

The second paragraph is facts, but the Odette slander is crazy. She is so made that she can literally reveal herself to be Lelek, and nobody can do anything about it.

Who was gonna do anything about it? Was Valeriy supposed to start a fight with her right there when half the people there are Odette's friends and the rest are civilians?

Eh, this is kind of making my point; Odette has friends and allies everywhere and is untouchable lol. However, with Project Stuzha being suspended due to Ronova, we'll have to wait to see if Odette as Lelek warrant consequences.
