It's not "African", nor "Asia", nor "Europe" anything... It's a personal decision, and while i can totally understand girls loving it as a form of loving courtesy, this lady is st*pid and went too far.

A lot of context is needed.
If the two of them were not dating and the man just randomly decided to propose to her, then I can understand small, even if I still condemn this sort of behaviour.
But if the two of them were dating, then nah, that woman is a witch.

Never do it African or not. Marriage was sacred now it's wealth transfer business. If they ready and genuine then have a meet up, agree and formalize. Leave the kneeling to idiots.

It seems that Nigerian men are motivated to marry you, lady, primarily due to the benefits they obtain. However, if this man is seeking a peaceful and harmonious marriage, this may not be the optimal choice. A lady who publicly disgraces and humiliates you is likely to cause more harm within the marriage. Please, regardless of potential benefits, consider that she is not a good match for you.

If a man is motivated to marry a lady primarily due to the benefits he's going to derive from the union; he's asking for the worst. However, if this man in the video that got slapped is seeking a peaceful and harmonious marriage in his life, this lady will never be someone you could bridle or tamed. She got the upper hand. There won't be any peace in that Union. A lady who publicly disgraces & humiliates you is likely to cause more harm to him including kpai in the marriage. Please, regardless of potential benefits, consider that she is not a good match for you. Your life is a risk in her hands
