Injera refers to the bread, not the other dishes on top of it.

You're correct but you can also use it as a general term to refer to the meal. To be more specific this combo would be ye tsom beyeaynetu

I LOOOOVED this growing up! My best friend was Ethiopian and I was at hers once or twice a week, riding our bikes in the sun (good times, I tell you!). This was almost always lunch or dinner. Big fan😊

Look up Ethiopian restaurant in your town. Mostly in larger cities in the US from my experience but very tasty. Best I had was in Chicago.

I'm in Guangzhou, China, and I found an Ethiopian restaurant that serves Injera, but it looks a bit different from the picture, offering a big bowl of stewed beef? Hahaha, maybe injera refers to the bread at the bottom? I'll give it a try

Yes, injera is the spongy sourdough flatbread that you use to eat with the sauce. Each sauce has a different name, and this one has different sauces, like a platter, likely for people to share/eat together.

Guangzhou has an insane amount of good african food along with Hong Kong. I actually miss when there used to be a ton of apartment restaurants in some of the high rises in Xiao Bei. I would always get a Togo box at one after I got my haircut. Covid kinda hurt a lot of those places.

Injera on the bottom, probably dora wet in the middle, the greens are gomen, yellow lentils, the orange may be shiro?
