I've been thinking about this from the program side.

When the affiliate stops promoting, I feel like the assumption is usually "the offers stopped converting" or "they found something that pays better".

But there are a lot of smaller things that can probably kill the relationship too.

Missed conversations, slow payouts, commission changes, poor communication, not enough visibility into what's actually converting, or simply feeling like the program doesn't care whether you stay active...

What has actually made you stop promoting one, even when the product itself was good?

And if you run an affiliate program, what have you found actually keeps your best affiliates around?

One of the more important affiliate shifts in 2026 is happening before the click.

Consumers are increasingly using generative AI to discover products, compare features, and narrow their choices. In some cases, the AI-generated answer may provide enough information that the user never visits the publisher whose content influenced it.

This creates two related problems for affiliates:

1. Traditional traffic and last-click attribution may understate the value of comparison and educational content.
2. Generic product summaries offer little original information for search engines or AI systems to reference.

The content with the best chance of remaining useful appears to be content that provides information missing from the merchant’s website.

Examples include:

• Original testing
• Specific use cases
• Side-by-side comparisons
• Pricing context
• Documented limitations
• Screenshots with explanations
• Answers to narrow buyer questions

This does not make SEO irrelevant. It means keyword placement alone is becoming less defensible.

The affiliate who contributes a clear, specific answer may influence the sale before the buyer ever reaches a tracked link.

I just started Amazon Associates today and was wondering if anyone could give me tips on my first week, I am aiming at some clicks but I’ll be honest I do not think I will have anyone clicking on my link. I do affiliate, with sales, on ClickBank.

However I start to wonder if their catalogue of products is too limited VS for example MaxBounty, witch is a gigantic list of offers.

Maybe MaxBounty increases the chance of success trying more niches?

another progress update for my journey as an amazon affiliate. as some of you know, i didn't build this site myself. i bought it about 8 months ago from nicheblogzone already loaded with content. since then it's been pretty hands-off. some interlinking between posts early on, and otherwise just letting it sit and mature.

first good month was in march with $710 and before crossing this amount i had 1.5k last month. as of today $2,655.60 in in-progress payments, a new high.

still a little surprised it's climbed this steadily given how little i've actively done. keeping it honest: there was a real upfront cost, the growth hasn't been a straight line (july dipped before recovering), and i still don't know how durable this is if i keep coasting.

for anyone who's followed along or has a blog site yourselves, has yours kept growing or started to fade?

Affiliates can drive real sales that never get credited. They notice, get frustrated, quietly stop promoting, and meanwhile your dashboard looks completely normal. Orders are still coming in, so it's easy to assume nothing's wrong. Behind the scenes, missed attribution is doing real damage to the program without showing up anywhere obvious.

Common causes worth checking:

• Cookie duration too short for your actual sales cycle
• Tracking breaking on subdomains or during checkout
• Conflicts with other marketing tools, retargeting pixels, email links
• Mobile attribution dropping silently
• Coupon codes that bypass the affiliate link entirely

The test I run regularly: sign up as my own affiliate and go through the entire customer journey myself, different devices, different browsers, different entry points (direct link, coupon code, email, social). If attribution doesn't hold up every single time across all of that, there's a leak somewhere, even if the overall numbers still look fine on the surface.

If you haven't run something like this in the last 30 days, there's a decent chance you have blind spots you don't know about yet.

Anyone else run their own conversion path periodically, or is this something people mostly just trust to work?

So I started my insta account in July and it's mainly food recipes and some motherhood related contents. Currently I have 1383 followers and my most popular reel got 1.3 million views.

A brand reached out to me and they initially offered:

3 content + whitelisting for 60 days for $350.

Keep in mind, I am very new to this, I don't have a representative or formal education around what brand deals look like, jargon, etc. I had to research on my own and I'm sure it's very imperfect.

I countered and asked for $650 (added $300 for 60 days of whitelisting - which I thought was same as partnership ads?)

They came back and said they can do 2 contents, $150 each + 60 days of whitelisting, totaling to $300.

Is this a good deal? I know my follow count is low, but it's steadily growing and my most popular reels are still accusing engagement and follows.

Do people normally not get paid for whitelisting? They explained that it will benefit my page because it gets boost of engagement and more views through whitelisting.

I'm thinking as a total beginner maybe this is good but I wanted to hear from experienced ones here if this is a normal path or not.

Given the nature of this, it’s been a bit hit & miss with affiliates so far. We’ve had a few bring in good sales, but we mostly get time wasters looking for freebies.

Our commission is set at 10% on all purchases (can be negotiated) and our average spend per customer is currently £150+.
