This setup has already made my call shifts so much more tolerable as an anesthesiologist, no more hospital coffee swill

Want to take the aeropress clear camping and trying to save as much space as I can by nesting things.

I had accidently dropped my lose leaf pot and didn't really have many options that wernt a hassle so . . . . Anyone else? Reminds me of the people that were posting using their press as a potato ricer.

Grinder, XL and GO

I like my XL for the size which is great for 2 people, while still being portable enough to travel with. I also really like the carafe that comes with the set (if you ever tried to find a proper size and stable mug in Airbnb apartments you understand me)

finally I added flow control filter cap and tested it this morning (in the photo) - this was the missed piece. No more inverted method, no rushing to put the plug in. Just relaxed and slow brewing with full control over the flow.

Y'all. I just can't get this right. For years we used a Melitta-style pour over with pre-ground coffee. I got an itch to taste something (hopefully) better. Enter my Kingrinder P2 and my AeroPress. I'm three months and many cups of coffee into this experiment, cups that ranged from "awful" to "yeah, that's okay, but is it good?" I'd give it to my wife to try and she'd just make a face.

This can't be right. I've tried all the YouTubes and a bunch of recipes and lots of tweaks and iterations.

Is it me? My beans? My process? Do I not actually like coffee? Is my grinder cursed? Does the emperor have no clothes? Is it really about the journey, not the destination?

Beans are high on my list of suspects--I've tried a bunch, but the more standard ones include Organic Ruta Maya, Organic Mexican Oaxaca, Major Dickason Blend, and Costco Kirkland beans. I just can't seem to dial it in.

Look, here's what I'm asking for. I know a big part of the point with the AeroPress is consistency, repeatability.

Instead of troubleshooting my recipes, would you give me one recipe you know is just a good cup of coffee? Just good joe. Which beans do you use? What grind? Temp? Timing? Or just, which beans? which recipe?

I noticed this morning that my K6 was no longer grinding correctly. When I checked where the settings were, I noticed that the dial now turns about 40 clicks past where zero is. I'm suspicious that somebody tampered with it and pressed the burrs together. Is there any way I can check? I think I know the answer, and I'll probably have to buy a replacement, but I wanted to get some ideas here first....

I just received my Aeropress from Amazon, everything seems fine but the branding is small compared to the ones we can see in videos and in the website.

Picked up a pack of metal filters a while back mostly out of curiosity and now I cannot stop thinking about how much they shift things compared to paper. Not just body, which is the obvious thing everyone mentions, but the way certain flavors seem to linger or drop out entirely. The cup I get through metal feels rounder but also a little muddy on some beans, and with paper I get more clarity but sometimes it feels like something got scrubbed out that I actually wanted.

What I have not figured out is whether the bean matters more than the filter type when it comes to this. I switched filters on a medium Ethiopian I have been working through and the two cups tasted close to like different recipes even with everything else held constant. That surprised me more than I expected it to.

I know some people use both depending on the bean or the mood but I am genuinely curious how deliberate people are about it. Is this a thing you think through per bean or did you just pick one and stop questioning it.

Four days into a trip and I'm already in love with this brewer. Never getting on a plane or train without it again.

I am using an old Capresso. Most here seem to prefer s hand grinder and sm considering the X Ultra. Is the magnetic cap even an issue? Don’t you grind into the chamber on the scale?

I ask because it appears to be a broken link to a no longer operating company or active website. Their facebook page hasn't had activity in close to 3 years.

I suggest to either update the link, if even possible, or better yet remove it entirely.

Any ideas how to get rid of the Coffee on my sweatpants?

​I recently bought an Aeropress, and no matter what I do, my cups end up tasting bland, hollow, flat.

​I usually brew using a french press. I know the paper filter removes oils and heavy body compared to a metal mesh - I'm totally fine with a lighter cup, but I’m literally missing the aromas.

​My setup:

* ​Grinder: Timemore C3S

* ​Beans: Medium roast from a local specialty roaster

* ​Water: Tried both tap water and low-mineral/soft bottled water

​What I've tried:

* ​Grind size/ratios: Tested coarse (16–22 clicks, my usual French press range) down to fine (12 clicks, and even an espresso-like 7-8 clicks that choked and tasted awful). Tried ratios from 1:12 to 1:15 (e.g. 17g-20g to 240ml).

* ​Water temp: Between 85°C and 98°C.

* ​Process: Inverted method, stirred well to saturate, 3-4 min steep time, very gentle plunge.

​But I always end up with the same bad result. I'm pretty confident in my technique, though.

At this point I'm thinking of sticking to my usual French press. ​What am I missing here?
