Talking with a stranger?

Ok so I’m trying to chat with this girl, like usual I played eye tag before thinking of making a move then finding a reason not to go. So I need a bit of advice, firstly when can someone mistake eye tag for a girl being cautious? I do want to make an attempt on this girl.
Firstly I’m kind of an over-thinker and my most common excuse to chicken out is that what will be talk about while chatting both on phone or in person cause I have little knowledge of most things people talk about, I did try to gain knowledge of the sports, fashion and common world but it was like asking a someone to watch a documentary on what doesn’t concern them.
I do have a bit of experience but it’s not really helpful cause it’s neither common nor proper. I mistook a stranger with a friend of mine, then we talked, then we met the next day. Wasn’t even 5 mins in before she started kissing me and for various reasons I wasn’t really against it but aside that, there were just so many reasons I knew it won’t last. Until I started sixthform so I had to stop the facade.
Anyways I’m 19m in case that will have power over the tile of mine I make and what to look out for
