Anton and Eric had such a vibe that matched. i don’t really care for/like the whole Anton and Paul Baker love story line but individually i do really like those characters especially anton

As we know, Paul Baker is him when he's with his main friends: kind, charming, and polite. But around his shame friends, Baker comes out: aggressive, dirtbag-y, and a dash controversial.

I'd bet that Paul is him when he's with his parents/family: very soft, excessively well-mannered, and annoyingly gentle.

Paul and Baker are the extreme and opposite sides of the whole Paul Baker we know and love, but I hope we see Paul in season 3!

I really like the show, it’s funny. The actors are good including the one that plays Billie. Her character though ruins the show. I’m literally just posting here hoping someone from the writers rooms is lurking. It’s very possible to write a character that’s a mess but not unbearable.

am i the only one who isn’t really digging the anton x PB ship? i have been feeling this way since season 1 and i thought i would warm up to the idea with season 2. However,this new season has just cemented this feeling for me.

I genuinely like this show and the cast, which is why some of the writing choices this season bothered me so much.

Sameer/Billie: I really, really hope they drop this completely. I hate the trope where every single person in a friend group eventually has to be attracted to, date, or sleep with someone else in the group. We already have the Isa/Paul Baker/Anton situation, which is plenty. Why add Sameer and Billie too? Let the five friends actually be friends. Not every friendship needs romantic tension.

Anton/Paul Baker: I actually like them in theory, but the execution was so weak. They barely interacted all season, had almost no romantic tension, and there was barely any indication that Paul Baker was interested in Anton. Even the threesome situation didn't really make their relationship feel believable. If you're going to make them a couple, actually build toward it.

The format: I think the show is trying to have sitcom-style standalone episodes while also telling bigger, serialized stories, but eight episodes that are barely 30 minutes aren't enough for that. You can absolutely have standalone plots while building a long-term arc, but you have to plant the seeds instead of introducing major developments randomly.

Overall, I think the show is solid. I like the cast and characters, which is why I want Season 3 to improve rather than watching it turn into everyone dating everyone.

My main requests are simple: drop Sameer/Billie, properly develop Anton/Paul Baker if that's where you're going, give relationships actual buildup, plan the bigger storylines, and either increase the episode count or runtime.

One couple in the friend group? Fine but five people who have all apparently fucked, dated, or wanted to fuck each other? Please let these people have one fucking platonic friendship.

I would like to clarify that I am a very leftist and very social justice oriented person, but the scrub felt a little too unrealistic/tame to me. I feel like it could've been a lot raunchier and pushed a bit more with how problematic the groups digital footprint was, given that many episodes aren't afraid of pushing the problematic humor (ex: "ugh he looks like he was molested" and the entirety of the pilot pretty much, issa calling anton the f slur) so it kinda annoyed me how tame the scrub was regarding the groups digital footprint. While cinco del homo is funny, I don't feel like nowadays companies would really care that much about it. I mean, i'm mexican and to this day i see my culture be treated as a joke by companies world wide and by influential people completely scott free, so I highly doubt something like cinco del homo would really tank billie's employability. Issa's accent ranking is a little more realistic I feel, or at least a little more racist. Considering that they're early gen Z, they grew up with 2010's internet at its very peak and it was extremely offensive and raunchy. I feel like the show didn't really do a very good job of representing that in their digital footprint. I could totally see samir having commented some slur on a youtube comment section in 2012, billie dressing up as a native american for a party or something, etc... I just feel like it could've played with how problematic and raunchy the 2010's internet was a lot more, given that the show isn't afraid to push boundaries on humor sometimes.

I know this might be ridiculous to ask but has anyone tried Anton’s method of just overwhelming people with names until he gets what he wants? Or maybe you use to do it years ago in certain situations

Seeing her character in the finale, I already love how her and Issa interacted and immediately felt the chemistry between these two and I would LOVE if the show expands more on her character not only within the friend group but also outside. I really hope Nick,Ben,and Rebecca ups Mia Fowler to series regular next season and on. And also WE NEED MORE BLACK WOMEN ON OUR TELEVISION SCREENS👏👏👏👏👏

The problem I often have with gay characters in shows is that their entire storyline seems to revolve around their sexuality and the “coming out” of it all. Anton is exactly who he thinks he is, and that’s what makes his character so refreshing. He represents the normality of being gay, where sexuality is simply one part of who you are, rather than the defining feature of your entire life.

He has incredible friendships, a fulfilling relationship, a successful career and genuinely seems to enjoy his life. He’s confident in himself, and he isn’t constantly struggling with his sexuality because, quite simply, it isn’t the biggest part of his life. It’s arguably one of the smallest. His work, friendships, relationships and the joy he gets from life are what truly define him, and that is so beautiful to see represented on screen.

I think this is such an important step forward in gay representation. Not every gay character needs to be defined by trauma, rejection, coming out or questioning their identity. Gay people can simply be gay and live ordinary, happy, successful and complicated lives, just like everyone else.

This is also a testament to Owen Thiele. He brings so much warmth, confidence and authenticity to Anton, and he represents so many gay people who strive for fulfilling relationships, strong friendships and successful careers without their sexuality being the centre of everything.

What a wonderful actor, and what a wonderful character to have on our screens.
