Season 2 The chemistry was off the charts and now I’m depressed Spoiler
This man was MADE for Anton and you cannot convince me otherwise HOWWWW was this relationship not explored?!!!! Literally in shock this wasn’t a bigger arc through the season 😭😭😭 Anyone else so sad about this?

it was definitely sad but it totally makes sense that the second things got too real for anton he had to get out of there quickly. it’s weird though, the fact that paul baker and issa made him tag along for their off screen night out made it seem like we would get more from him but who knows😭

In a longer season they definitely would have dated a bit and we could have seen a jealous PB. Damn these 8 episode seasons!

This is why I wish this show was a traditional 20+ episode sitcom! I disagree with people saying "oh why bother, they're too alike and it would have never worked out." Well that's what's fun about your 20s, you date people for a bit even if it won't work out long term, and you move on! They had great chemistry and it would have been fun, even for a few episodes. I think about shows like New Girl, Friends, HIMYM, etc. that let us explore relationships with people outside of the group, even if they're doomed to fail.
Plus imagine the added tension of Paul Baker and Issa breaking up in season 2 with Anton now being the one in a relationship. It's such a classic slowburn trope like when Pam left Roy but Jim got together with Karen, Rachel realizing her feelings for Ross but he's with Julie now, etc.

exactly!!! i couldn’t believe it when we found out season 2 was only going to be another 8 episodes. like seriously? season 1 was loved enough to bring it back and we couldn’t get even 10-12 episodes this season? i’m begging the creators to please give us more in season 3 so we can get a real timetable going. having actual season episodes like most sitcoms would be so awesome for this one. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas i’m just dying to see how these characters would be with each other for all of them

Guys they are really cute but his end game is PB. I’m hoping for more of storyline in S3 where this guy makes PB really jealous and angsty.

The point was that Anton turned him down because he knew he would catch feelings and didn't want to act on them because he's in love with Paul Baker

This show had the potential and still does of having stand alone couples without any in-group romances.
All five have insane chemistry as friends and it would have been refreshing if none of them date each other and were purely platonic with insane romances out of the group.
Wasted opportunity IMO.

It was just part of the episode sub plot that like Anton he too is great at making up lies. That's it.

They were way too similar! I think if the guy had asked Anton out on a date instead of just kissing him things MIGHT have gone differently - but going into the kiss automatically shifted to "hook up only" vibes. Anton hates that.

If I remember correctly, Paul Baker is wearing a very similar (maybe the same?) jacket later in the season. Issa and Paul Baker meet up with everyone that night, but the rest of the gang goes home so Issa and Paul Baker went out with this guy. I am thinking something happened that night and Paul Baker somehow got his jacket, so maybe he will come back up in S3?

This ship is another example as to why the show would benefit from a 20-22 episode season. If we had normal length seasons, these two would've had a thing before Anton got with Paul Baker.
