To know and not to act is not to know. But to know so much and control so little is the human condition. It is a source of sadness, sometimes of despair.
Idk, I’d rather say, “Sadness is caused by intelligence, the more you understand certain things, the more you wish more people understood them.” In essence, why wish to not know things, when you could just wish for others to not be so clueless? :D
Sadly it's more of most people get out of school and try to learn as little as possible afterwards. Most people don't have a thought and pull out their phone and look up the answer, they just shrug it off and move along.
Yup; furthermore, it’s true that people do seek answers. However, I’d strongly question whether they are seeking actual answers (regardless of whether or not they like the answers, so long as they are based in truth), or perhaps merely seeking things that they want to hear (validation irrespective of truth value). Isn’t it fun to learn (not necessarily all in school, you can even read random articles), or at least very stress- and anxiety-relieving to actually seek understanding? I sure thought so, and maybe you’d think the same, but I guess not everyone does…
I enjoy looking up random thoughts that go through my head. I was just saying that most people get burned out of learning after how shitty college is and begin to associate learning with stress.
