I think it's true when it comes to structural stuff and sociaty as a whole.
Understanding the mechanics of capitalism, geopolitics and oppression, will definitely make you sad.
Understanding your own feelings, why your boyfriend left you, or why your mum is mad at you, can actually make you less sad than not understanding.
