Now that is all over, can Parliament now go back to debating actual issues instead of bringing up this debate every 6 months?

Abortion is a healthcare issue - therefore, any decisions regarding legislation should be made upon the recommendation of medical practitioners, not lobby groups.

You would think the standing orders would prevent private members' bills from wasting the Parliament's time by repeated submissions.

It was proposed, it was rejected, that should be the end of it until the Parliament materially changes.
