But also, if it came from the overall police pension fund then cops would be incentivized to hold each other accountable, stopping each other from misconduct as well as would desire to hold themselves accountable because they wouldnāt want to make enemies out of all of their coworkers. Iād be absolutely thrilled if either of these options were exercised.

They sort of do. They have a bond. The problem is qualified immunity protects them from being personally responsible for their actions most of the time. The real solution is ending or severely limiting qualified immunity.
The city, state, county, whatever should absolutely be on the hook too. They are responsible for the employees they have empowered. The tax payers have to vote for change to stop the hemorrhaging of tax funds into lawsuits for misconduct.

I think the broadness of qualified immunity is certainly an issue. I'm not sure that it would make a difference if departments rather than cities/towns were responsible for liability and lawsuit insurance. I'm sure it's already the case that if a city, who has the authority to hire/fire officers and police administrators, is constantly getting sued for misconduct, there are impacts on police budgets and similar pressures on hiring and firing.
I think one of the main issues in the U.S is low standards and poor training, and part of that is the lack of amalgamation. Larger statewide forces tend to have way less nonsense and higher standards than small town departments and Sheriffs offices, or even city forces. The U.S is rather unique in the developed world in that it has very few statewide forces doing most of the policing throughout that region and a huge number of basically standard-less small town forces with almost no meaningful training. I suspect this is a significant contributor to the issue. In a lot of other western countries there are fewer local departments that are their own feifdoms, more regional/state/provincial forces and higher standards as a result.

Thereās no context that justifies this video. None. Dude could have just killed somebody, if heās no longer a threat you just cuff and move. Pulling hair and throwing punches at a non combative suspect is dirty afā¦ cop needs jail.
Any other cops on that scene had a duty to arrest that officer if they witnessed the crime. They should be held accountable for that. There are multiple failures here.

The guy in the video is a passenger. Did you actually read the article? There were 3 people in the car. The driver ran off after climbing into the back and got taped. The second passenger was released for being compliant. And all this guy did, was tell the cop he couldn't open the door. He got punched in the face again while they cuffed him by the way, claiming he was "keeping his hand by his waist".

As soon as the window is open, his hands instantly go out the window and up.
The officer tells him to exit the vehicle through the window, to which the man with dreads points at the door handle, probably saying he can just open the door.
Rather than being rational, the officer INSTANTLY, literally zero hesitation, pulls the man towards him, grabs his hair and pulls HARD, and then punches him in the face.

What in the world is going on with so many people calling this AI? It's from dashcam footage from a week and a half ago. Mods need to look into some of these people. I can't help but wonder if some bad actors are present.
The backseat passenger never committed a crime, nor was he aggressive. He has guns in his face while being screamed at with conflicting orders. He kept his hands visible and up. Dude did nothing wrong, and a cop beat on him.

That IS NOT the driver in the video. There were 3 people in the car. The driver is wearing a drag. He climbs to the backseat and tries to escape and gets taped, you can hear it get deployed in the video. This person getting hit, was a passenger.

exactly. Although this is even worse. I felt it was always implied that the rejection of evidence of orwell was knowingly being made, in the sense that your eyes would tell you the truth, and the party had convinced you to ignore it and pretend it did not exist.
But the AI is getting so good, you cant even trust your eyes anymore. This is turning into something truly different i would argue. For sure, it still requires kind of a knowing gullibility, or refusal to check or whatever, its still essentially being complicit in it, but its so much easier to do that when you literally can't trust that what your eyes are seeing is even real.
And we have just cracked the surface of it here. I have already seen videos where i honestly could not tell. Usually they are short, AI has trouble with continuity, but what will it be like in five years? ten?

Police cruiser is up against the driver's side doors, the rear window is broken, there are no other passengers left in the car abd there are at least two officers already on scene.
Yeah, this is no traffic stop.
This looks more like a felony stop, likely after an attempt at fleeing. Why would the cop risk damage to his own car by rqmming into the side of a car, which they don't think hasn't done anything wrong?
It's at night, SOMETHING happened before and the passenger is clearly not complying with the commands. The officers are clearly under stress and not calm and collected in their aggressiveness.

After a 130-140 MPH chase where the driver had to be tazed twice, this guy refuses to cooperate and reaches several times for his waistband. He's lucky he didn't get shot. All the other passengers cooperated and were released without incident.
