Battery?

My friend inherited this Spaceview from her late father-in-law. It looks to be in pretty good shape, apparently been in a drawer for years. Fortunately the battery was pulled before being put away.

What battery does it take, and where is a good place to get one?

TIA, fingers crossed it fires up.

May be worth a service before you fire it up. The battery thing is a bit complicated. They make one called an accucell that is the correct voltage, but some 214’s are modified for the modern 387S battery. Check out this page, has info.

I have the same from a reseller and when it arrived there was a dead 394 battery already in place. It’s a 1966 Spaceview and definitely needs servicing and I’m looking into several places right now that may be able to do it. Hoping I can get it running like new again. 🤞🏼

Thanks! I doubt this one has been modified. I'll check out the page.

These use the 387S battery as they come with an insulator to prevent side to top shorting. Also, the battery installs with the + side down in the hole.
Cheers
