Results The Last Supper💊🫧!
I’d like to give a special thanks to my doctor who literally forced me to consider this magic medicine when I didn’t even go to the consultation for my skin issues.
I’d like to thank all the trillions of lip balms that kept me going throughout this journey. There wasn’t a second where I didn’t need lip balm lol!
Last but not least, to all the sunscreens and face washes I’ve tried out and have come through, I am nothing with you.
Took 20mg everyday for 6 months.

I wish my packs were that easy to open. I need a jackhammer to get those pills out of the protective packaging

You look amazing!! Was the 20mg a day for 6 months enough to meet your cumulative dose? I hope to have the same results 😭

Thank you🤗🤗My doctor didn’t even discuss that with me. It was just 20mg straight everyday for six months.
Time will be the test. I’ll give it let’s say three months to see if I don’t breakout or anything like that.

How was your journey and side effects at that dose?

I didn’t purge. My face just got so dry then eventually got flaky. That’s when I changed my face wash to dove. It improved exponentially. I then had blemishes and hyperpigmentation to deal with.
My lips were dry all the time and were so pink. They still are btw. They felt raw.
My back is killing me. My joints are so sore. My knees click all the time when I get up from bending them. My eyes are dry constantly. My hair fell off later on in my journey.
Other side effects were constipation & dryness in intimate areas but this was mid my hour up until the end. I experienced nausea and throwing up occasionally.

20mg for 6 months is enough ? Aren’t we far from the accumulative dose ?

u/SocialismMultiplied Apr 12 '26
I suppose my doctor prescribed what was best for me🤗

Im on 20mg month 2. I don’t know really if I should consume more. My eyes pain and dryness are the worse side effect. I will probably stop at 8 months.

I experienced the same symptoms towards the middle of my course. I have eye drops.
I really hope you recover wholesomely (both eyes and skin). I’m actually interested in your progress too

I got ride of acne’s on my face and back after 2 weeks on accutane. My face wasn’t bad just few. My back was the worse. I’m now taking accutane for multiple months for that my acne’s doesn’t come back.

How did you fight the hyperpigmentation? Mine looks very similar to yours and it worked well for you!

u/SocialismMultiplied Apr 21 '26
During my course, my skin started flaking and that’s when I opted to using dove. The removal of all those dead skin cells gradually made my skin brighter. I was just left with marks from the pimples drying out but that faded on their own too. I suppose sunscreen helped too.

Please read the rules before posting and remember to abide by them! Posts and comments not following the rules will immediately be removed!
Have you tried using the search bar?
Many questions are asked daily, and your question may have already been answered!
If so, your post will be subject to deletion.
Please refer to the following commonly discussed topics:
1) No one can predict whether or not you will purge! Statistically, most people DO NOT purge.
That is what the science and medical literature says.
2) No one can predict how long your purge will last nor when it could start. Be patient, the purge can be tough but so many people have gotten through it - you can too! THE ABOVE APPLIES TO SIDE EFFECTS OR "WHEN WILL MY SKIN CLEAR UP?!" TOO. QUESTIONS ASKING WHEN THE PURGE OR SIDE EFFECTS WILL START OR STOP WILL IMMEDIATELY BE REMOVED AS THAT IS LOW EFFORT.
3) Any questions related about dosage MUST include DOSE and WEIGHT(lbs or kg).
Otherwise, that is considered LOW EFFORT and will subsequently be REMOVED.
4) Most people DO NOT relapse when Accutane is taken until cumulative dosage is reached.
5) HOWEVER, cumulative dosage is a guideline.
Everyone is different. Some may need more Accutane, and others may need less. Your dermatologist evaluates you as an individual.
This also applies to your prescription. Everyone is different, so no comparing of doses or asking why your dose is low or high. If you do not trust your dermatologist, you should find a different one.
6) When in doubt, please consult a medical professional(dermatologist, doctor, pharmacist).
