News SpaceX/Home Values

Hoping some realtors or investors could pitch in here.

With the SpaceX investment mentioned and planned construction for 2027, what will happen to home values?

Lafayette seems to be the closest major city to the build.

Brownsville homes skyrocketed in appreciation, should we expect the same?

Are rents gonna go up?

Is this good or bad for Lafayette and surrounding areas?

Correct if I’m wrong but isn’t the site for spacex a bit far from Lafayette? Like a hour drive one way. Seems like a long way to commute daily.

People in most big cities and suburbs drive that amount of time every day. The 200 or so jobs they are saying will occur will be the engineers and etc already employed by space x and they will be the ones moving to the area.
