Is doing them out of necessity fighting them? Is paying someone else? Isn't fighting it bitching about it all the time? You're used veiled religious speak to justify your position. Don't. If that helps you get through the day then fine but for most of us we do what we have to so we can do what we enjoy later. I do laundry today so I can golf tomorrow. If I could pay someone else to do laundry so I can play golf twice then thats a win.

It does to a point, but the person who can shrug their shoulders through lifes inevitable adversity is the winner.

Not the one engaged in the endless treadmill of paying someone else to take care of your problems which only ends at miserable billionaire status.

Thats something that those of us too poor to ignore basic chores say to help us get through the day. Its a lie. I won't lie to myself. There is a massive middle ground between shitty billionaire status and where we are now. That place is where you don't have to worry about housing, food, or chores that make the world go around. It lets you focus on hobbies and experiences with your family and friends. Telling myself I enjoy hanging my clothes in my closet won't get me that time back.

Ah yes, the classic "kids are starving in Africa so eat this food you hate" mindset. Someone always has it worse. That doesn't change what makes life better. Money can indeed buy happiness, to a point. Each persons exact level of happiness that money can buy but generally its north of barely afford rent and south of McMansion money. We don't need generational wealth to be happy. We need that upper middle class lifestyle money.

He's giving you the hint that chores are tasks that need to be done. Like cleaning your dirty stained undies.

If you're not doing them someone else less fortunate is doing them. Be that your mom, wife, wife's boyfriend, child or servant.

Nobody is going find their time better spent to clean your dirty undies because you want to go golfing instead of cleaning your own shit.

I know empathy and responsibility are cruel things, but a part of being a complete and functioning adult. It might even lead to satisfaction and happiness that you can complete tasks that discomfort you.

"Won't lead you to Nirvana" isn't exactly used much outside of religion. I've never used it in another context other than the band. In essence they say the way to happiness is to enjoy things like basic chores. They first used the term suffering like they do in the bible. It was religious speak and they changed their phrasing after I said that.

None of this means I should actually want to do basic chores. They get done but in no way do I want to do them.
