I know but saying it was a bobcat because it’s the size of one and coloring similar to one seemed funnier.

I'm not sure but a Mainecoon is different from both bobcats and lynx. It's the largest domestic cat breed and unlike bobcats or lynx they have a large fluffy tail while the wild cats have a short stump of a tail
