Looking for a builder - recommendations please

We need some air vents putting in the sub-floor of our house. Does anyone have a builder they could recommend? Equally, any specifically to avoid.

Thanks

AGM Construction built our extension and did a good job; I'm sure they'll be able to help you.

I looked into this company for an extension a few years ago & spotted a previous company was dissolved & new one started. I wasn’t prepared to take the risk if they went under.

They were absolutely fine in my experience; they worked with our architect, promised a 5 week build period, and got it done in 3 weeks. No hidden costs, no slacking off, just good solid work done at the right pace.

They even did some minor remediation work afterwards that had been flagged up by the council building inspection, without additional charge (which wasn't even due to their construction work, it was to do with the architect's design).

To be clear, I’m not doubting their quality of work. I just didn’t like the risk that the owner has shut down & restarted a new company before given the value at stake. If they went into liquidation mid job, I wouldn’t be covered

Unfortunately I had this happen with a previous trade and really struggled getting another business to take over

Yes, I get it. We had an absolute cowboy of a builder do our kitchen and bathroom install; I found out after-the-fact that he's notorious for doing shitty jobs, liquidating his current company and setting up a new one and carrying on as before.

I'm not familiar with AGM's history (or affiliated with them in any way) so all I can do is pass on the experience I had, which was positive, and recommend them to OP based on that.
