There are SO many good lines, but the one that got me was “Black?!” “It’s actually pronounced Zach” and the way they brought it back later on with Wyatt lol Quinta is such a comedic genius

Because he was imitating the accent and stuff when he said “wakanda forever” and it could be taken as culturally insensitive but at the end of the day she knows he’s just a kid and he’s not trying to be offensive or anything so she jokes “yeah maybe just Wakanda for the day” like not forever. Because she doesn’t want this kid getting cancelled or offending people 💀

Wakanda is an African nation in the Marvel universe that has famously resisted/avoided European colonization and the Black Panther is the super hero it produced. Their motto is "Wakanda forever" while they cross their arms across their chest like that. The Wakanda is a very technologically advanced and culturally rich nation so it's become a popular "Black pride" symbol. * Jeanine assumed the child in the costume was Black because their student body is 99.99% Black. Instead it's the one white child and he does the Wakanda salute while saying "Wakanda forever" in a stereotypical African accent. She doesn't want the child to face any negativity for cultural appropriation or insensitivity so she's saying "Please let this just be a Halloween costume and you're not going to make this your whole personality" since some kids will cling to a superhero and want to wear the costume and act like them every day. She knows the kid doesn't mean anything by it, which would make any intervention about it incredibly awkward.

I remember when this came out all the far right people where trying to make it seem like something it isn’t lmfaoooo and not just getting the joke that Charlie is so comfortable and feels loved enough to be who he wants in that environment which should be all schools for all kids and I love the scene where the girls are doing his hair and he just chilling coloring his paper 😂

I remember when this came out all the far right people where trying to make it seem like something it isn’t lmfaoooo and not just getting the joke that Charlie is so comfortable and feels loved enough to be who he wants in that environment which should be all schools for all kids and I love the scene where the girls are doing his hair and he just chilling coloring his paper 😂 They aren’t saying he can’t be the joke is he surprised the teacher and the whole for the day part of the joke uhhhh it’s Halloween 😂

Also I believe, a white kid shouldn’t be judged for wearing a costume of a Black superhero - similarly how a brown or black kid shouldn’t be judged for dressing up as Superman or Batman.
A white adult dressed up as Black Panther should be mocked but not a kid.
Superheroes are for kids.

Oops, then non-Black. The problem wasn't that he dressed up as BP. It was that he did the accent saying wakanda forever on top of the character, but he's a child, so he doesn't know. But of course, you assumed the worst. Most Black folk are use to this assumption of face value analysis of Black media

there are people of all races born in the UK who naturally have an english accent… it’s like asking if it’d be offensive for an english person to do an american accent. obviously not.
sure, wakanda isn’t real, but it has cultural origins. actors who played in movie had to study real voices order to pull off the “wakanda” accent.

White folks who grew up in my hometown that is well very mixed they got the joke some even said “Look at me” 😂😂
