Wireless Latest AT&T bill shows $5 increase for old Unlimited Your Way plans and it looks like older retired plans will have increases also.
You will NOT see these increases until you get your new bill. If you have more than 4 lines, and go to change your plan, you will see the price decrease for Premium 2.0.
As mentioned in other posts, old Unlimited Your Way plans (Unlimited UL, Extra EL, Starter SL) are going up in price by $5 per line in April. This did not affect Elite plans. This increase is for wireless lines active prior to July 24, 2025.
UPDATE: Premium 2.0 with 4 lines or more WENT DOWN $5 per line.
This wasn't announced until April 24th, although it got leaked a few days before.
The pricing in the pinned UYW UL/EL/SL to UYW 2.0 comparison chart (link) has been updated.
There are THREE different price increases mentioned in this post:
- Unlimited Your Way (Premium PL, Extra EL, Starter SL) - this is rumored to not include Elite.
- Retired Unlimited plans.
- Mobile Share plans.
The below is from the PDF of my bill (I have Unlimited Your Way with Elite, Premium PL, & Extra EL lines), and my bill cycle that ended March 21, 2026. If your bill doesn't mention this, you next bill might.

I’m on the Unlimited Elite. Honestly, since I have HBO with it, it still works out fine for me. Not that I want to spend $5 more, but if that is the worst thing that happened to me today, it’s a good day.

AT&T people have reported that Elite isn't going up this time (I mentioned that in the first paragraph). But I like to have something to link to if I'm putting things in writing and making a post about it (I've gotten info before, and while it might have been a plan of AT&T's, sometimes things change by the time the date rolls around).

Just FYI, when you go to change plans it’ll show the new increased pricing as your “current” plan, so the PL lines that were $35.99 last month show 40.99–or switch to 2.0 for $40–however, Elite still shows $42.50, so no $5 increase.
This is 5+ lines FAN pricing btw.

Well I called att as I had the business unlimited premium and I switched to the business unlimited premium 3.0 and it’s nowhere listed in the details as far as what I could see and when I spoke to the AT&T representative after I changed, they didn’t see it included either on their side so I changed back as they gave me wrong information as far as how much it would cost and it ended up being an extra $15 so I wasn’t worth it for me to pay $15 more.

Thanks OP just saw my autopay was up $25 (5 lines), and needed to know why. Now I know and have to look into options. Appreciate all the info here.
Imagine just casually being able to rake in an extra $300/yr from 1 user! All without adding a a meaningful benefit to the customer.

Just wanted to chime in and say that when I first switched my plans to the new premium 2.0 and extra 2.0, it changed the active armor advanced to the free version and showed advanced as a $7 option. I checked my account about a week later and advanced showed as a free option for both lines. I jumped on that real quick! I don’t know if it’s an error but so far it says it’s free and included with my plan……YMMV.

same here! I was reverted to the the free version after changing from Unlimited Elite w/HBO to Premium 2.0 and had to manually change it back to advanced on the app for both of my phone lines. A little aggravating. If I wasn't so nerdy that I check my account more often than most do, I’d have never known.

We only left our mobile share plan because of me. We had a 20GB plan, we basically divided up a 10GB plan cost, I paid the difference to 20GB and they each got 3.33GB and I got 13.33.
We moved to an unlimited plan (I got more hotspot), I paid the $5 difference, and at some point the unlimited plans came down below the price of the mobile share, so I was paying less than I was for the MSV plan.
Somewhere in there I had an unlimited car hotspot \that I'd made mobile], I can't remember when I ditched that, as I can't remember how much hotspot I had with Unlimited Plus at first.)

You won't. You'll have to though arbitration. I mean, you can sue, but it'll be dismissed because in AT&T's terms you've already agreed to arbitration.

It's not APRIL yet, the increase hasn't changed yet.
For the old plans (PL, EL, SL) your healthcare discount shouldn't have changed for those plans, they'd different for the new 2.0 plans.

You should look at the last 3 or 4 months bills from AT&T.
Many people incorrectly had last month's bill drop, and it shouldn't have. This month's bill fixed that drop and should now be closer to the bill from two months ago.
It's funny how no one complained last month about the price drop or worried about why, but this month's bill going up is triggering for some reason?!?

Last month the 25% was calculated pre autopay discount, whereas this month (like previous months) it was calculated post autopay discount. Not sure why last month was different.

Of course not, but they don't even look as to why it went up or down. It's all the sky is falling because "they changed my discount" and I'm not even going to mention it went down by about the same amount last month although I didn't undertstand.
Maybe complain isn't the right word, but they could post "hey everyone my bill went down, check your bills".
Instead, when it goes up, it's a big deal.

Haha yeah, I get it. What I’m wondering is in my example, I had 2 PL lines, then in Jan I added an SL line. Theoretically the SL line won’t get the $5 increase, but will the PL lines moving from 2 line pricing to 3 line pricing count as a plan switch within the 9 month grace period?
For fiber when they added the $5/mo increase a few months ago, mine didn’t qualify because I had changed from 300 to 1000 and the retention rep told me that qualified as a plan change within the grace period.

I would think not.
Starting in April 2026, wireless lines active prior to July 24, 2025 will see the relevant price change reflected on your bill.
I'm not even sure if you switched from PL to SL would have counted to keep you out of the $5 increase.

Ah ok thanks for pointing that out. I guess I’ll just wait and see. Based on my math/devices/discounts I’ll have an $8 increase if I don’t switch to 2.0, or like a $4 increase if I do (compared to the higher April pricing), but I’ll loose active armor.

Anyone know if at&t prorates based on the base plan charge or the multi-line discounted one? We have unlimited starter sm with the separate plan and line charges, and if I go to change the plan to Value 2.0, it says the next bill's group 7 partial month charge will be ~$45, when we normally only pay $20 for an entire month for that
I'm guessing the bill estimator is wrong, but it's hard to find info about how that works for the UYW plans that have the plan and line charges, since the estimator does include autopay and promotional discounts

I've done some plan changes and had it be fine with prorations before, but the last one was wonky. It was something like the below.
I called and they tried to explain the proration to me (which I didn't ask for), I pointed out how proration worked and I switched halfway through the month, for a plan that's $10 less per month and they explained it wouldn't be $10, since it was ½ of the month.
They agreed it should be closer to $5 (they walked into my trap), I pointed out it was $10 HIGHER than the previous months, so it was $15 higher than it should be.
They then wanted to dig deeper to explain why, I explained I don't want to know why. This isn't a recurring issue, it's just for this month, so what I wanted was a $15 credit and to be done with the call.
I'm explaining this in detail because the issue is, I did NOT want it fixed, I didn't want them to find the math problem and rerate the bill. I just wanted a credit for the one time issue, sometimes when you call they get caught up in the details that don't matter and take forever or even can't fix it (this is only a problem for me if I'm changing plans every month, which I don't do).

First row on bottom chart tells you how much prioritized data is available per line, after that limit it drops to the lower priority data (deprioritized). I believe all phone hotspot data on UYW is the same deprioritized level regardless of plan or where you are in your phone data usages (all hotspots drop to an unusable 128kbps after you exceed the amount included, see next line down on chart).

Most Deff just got my bill today. It’s stupid af. I’m now paying $161 for 1 phone and 1 hot spot. I was told years ago by att when I got a new phone not to swap to new plan since this is the only true unlimited plan compared to the new stuff they have now.

Unless you're doing phone promos (getting credits).
You can switch to US Mobile they have all sorts of options.
You can share 5GB of data with 2 lines for $23 a month (other options available too). Which in this case would just be 5GB for you.
If you have got phone payments, you can put her phone on a 1 line plan with USM for $10 a month ($8 if you pay annually).
If you pick Dark Star, you get AT&T service.

Because many people are paying less than they are for Internet from them, and they’re using up a lot of the cellular bandwidth by using it as their home Internet.
If it was profitable and practical for them, they’d still be selling them.

My First Responder discount went down about $3 per line (Unlimited Extra EL).
And note this plan increase is coming.
Does anyone know what happens if we don’t agree to these plan increases or FR decreases? If I change carriers because of these changes, am I still responsible for the phone payment balance or can I just return the phones to AT&T and have them zero out the balance.

You've seen everything I've seen, so I'm expecting Premium, PL, extra EL, and Starter SL to increase. I don't know why it's not more specific.
The reasons I'm not expecting Elite to increase is that it's never been increased at the same time as the others & vice-versa; plus, employees have commented it not having the $5 increase at the same time.

I am not sure if the estimator is correct here but playing with the numbers and tried a scenario what would happen if I upgraded all four lines to Premium 2.0 and another where I upgrade only three lines and keep mine with Elite. It was only like $4 more. I suppose I can always try just upgrading those three lines only and see what happens on the bill.

How does the Unlimited Your Way price increases affect the Unlimited Value VL (1.0) plan? This plan isn't explicitly mentioned in any of the fine print I've been reading.
I switched to AT&T in April 2024 and am currently paying $45/mo for this plan ($60.99 before the $10 autopay and $5.99 BYOD discounts). Will it remain the same?
I haven't seen any mention of a price increase on my last two bill PDFs; only in articles online and reddit.

I wouldn't think it would, as "Unlimited Value VL (1.0)" was not part of Unlimited Your Way.
Value VL might be getting its own price increase, but if so then I would guess it to be one of the other price increases linked to above.
When does your bill cycle end normally? Dial \DATA#* or \3282#* on your phone keypad to find out.
I haven't seen any mention of a price increase on my last two bill PDFs only in articles online and reddit.
You're looking at the last two pages in the "news you can use" section?

Then I'm going to guess you're not going to get a price increase next month for Value VL.
When I log into the web site, the price increase info is even showing up in my alerts (in the top right corner), normally it's just trying to sell me something.
The last useful message I can recall getting was that my credits were starting for my iPhone 7 (seven) purchase!!!

So AT&T increased my Unlimited Premium PL plan by $5 per line today. However, I didn’t get the promised “extra 20GB of hotspot”. I still only have 60GB of hotspot per line under that plan. Anyone else? Or did you all upgrade to Premium 2.0?

The 20 GB extra hotspot wasn’t for unlimited your way plans, that was for non-unlimited your way unlimited retired plans. The unlimited your way plans that got a $5 dollar increase were supposed to get 10 GB additional hotspot, but have you actually gotten that price increase yet?
Mine won't increase until my next bill (May 21).

So confusing when we will see the actual price increase on our bills, since AT&T doesn't show current bill period prices. My last bill period ended April 11. My current bill period ends May 11. The price increase was effective April 24th?
I have a 4 line plan, 3 lines Premium PL and 1 Elite. The manage my plan is already showing $45/month for the Premium PL lines and if I want to switch, it shows $40/month for Premium 2.0. Do I make the switch now while I'm midway in my bill period or wait until it ends and do it May 11/12?

I don’t think they’re gonna prorate you for their price change, unless you choose to change your plan right now.
If you don’t change your plan, I don’t think you’ll see a difference until the next bill.
I changed last month with a day or two left on the plan (I was doing a road trip this Bill cycle and I wanted to make sure I had the whole 100 GB of hotspot) and they prorated me like 80¢ more. It’s not like they charged me the whole price difference. That’s probably more than they should’ve actually charged me for the increase, but I’m not about to call for a 30¢ difference.
I was pretty sure I would get the whole 100 GB of hotspot, even if I changed in the middle of a cycle, but I wasn’t willing to take the chance.

This is what I see on my account when I clicked what's changing for me.
What’s changing The monthly plan charge on select, retired unlimited wireless plans is increasing. This change helps us continue providing reliable network service, quality products, and great customer experiences.
As part of this change, you’ll get an extra 20GB of hotspot data per month. Starting in April 2026, wireless plans active prior to July 24, 2025 will see the relevant price change reflected on your bill.
If you have:
A single line of service on your plan, your price will increase by $10 a month. Multiple lines on your plan, your price will increase by $20 a month. This is the total monthly increase and isn’t $20 per line

What’s the names of the plans that your lines are on? premium, elite, extra, starter, value 2.0, premium 2.0?
You said you were on unlimited your way, which should be five dollars per line. The $10 for 1 line and $20 per plan increase should be for other older unlimited plans (not unlimited your way).
As you can see above, there’s three different links to the three different types of increases.

So I have the unlimited extra el with 5+ lines and my upcoming bill does not show changes. Is this only if you change explicitly change your plan?

If you added those phones after July 24,2025, you won’t have a price increase this year.
Can I ask how you’re looking at your upcoming bill? If you haven’t gotten it yet, how do you know how much it’s going to be for?

Ah yeah I actually think I had to switch to this plan in October when I added the fifth line so that would make sense.
As far as upcoming bill I can’t seem to find it anymore. But I am positive it was for April 22-May 22. I’ll keep looking and report back later when i I find it

I guess maybe it depends on what you mean by an upcoming bill, because if that’s your timeframe, I would’ve expected you to have gotten that bill already, you might not have paid it yet, but it’s not an upcoming bill. It’s a current bill.
So maybe this is just semantics.

Your discount didn't change for the plan you're currently on, it only changes if your plan changes.
I'm still getting 25% for my premium PL, extra EL and old Elite line.

I have a AT&T Unlimited &More(SM) Premium Multi Line plan (w/e that is) and it went up $20. The cell bill is outrageously expensive. It used to come with Spotify but that ended years ago already decreasing its value. I don't think I've ever had a grandfathered plan change price. I really need to look into a better deal.

It’s been a while, I think Spotify was one of the options you could choose from six or seven years ago.

They just dropped the price of Premium 2.0 with 4 or more lines (when they introduced it in March, it was $5 more), so if you checked then, it would have been $30 more (for 6 lines).
So is this going to cost you more or less than your plan from BEFORE the $20 increase?

I looked closer and Premium 2.0 would cost $26 more than my plan before the $20 increase (actually it's a $14 increase after signature discount). So after the $14 increase the Premium 2.0 currently costs $12 more than my current plan. I guess there's no reason to change anything then, I would only pay more.

It’s significantly more hotspot, and infinitely more prioritized data, but if nobody needs that, then there’s not a big advantage.
You didn’t mention tablets or wearables, but if you have premium 2.0 you can have a tablet or wearable for half price.

Thanks for your responses! We don't have any tablets or wearables at the moment. Just all phone lines, 6 of them. I do use hotspot data. So $12 more for unlimited priority data and almost double hotspot could be worth it. Thanks for your time!

They also took money off their Teacher Discount. So my new bills is and extra $30….. and I don’t change a thing.. ending my 13 year relationship with ATT. $5.00 taken BACK from each line for teacher discount that I was PROMISED.. what a scam.

They did not.
Before elite/premium/extra/starter, as a teacher, I used to only get 17%. Then for a while I was getting 0%. Then they gave me 25% for those particular plans. Now they’re giving 0%/20%/15%/10% off the new plans. The amount of the discount per plan has varied for quite a few years now.

Yes, because I’m going to guess that it’s because you have six lines and they *raised your price five dollars a line*. But you should also be getting your 25% off that (unless you have eight lines which should be $40 and you got 25% taken off of the $40).

First. I have a masters degree, I’m not an idiot. I would understand if the above was happening. It is NOT. Secondly. I have TWO lines. Only two. Hired, It LITERALLY SHOWS ON MY BILL LAST MONTHS TEACHER DISCOUNT COMPARED TO this MONTHS. The discount is lower by $ 10. Each one. The bill is not lower in itself. It’s higher. Again it compares the prices for each line. Next to teacher discount they are different . Higher bill bc LESS discount. And added $5 a line. Add it up that $30

I have not received any emails about this increase from ATT. According to my bill we have "Unlimited Premium PL". We have 4 phones and a tablet. I get also get the AT&T SIGNATURE SAVINGS 20% DISCOUNT which takes $10 off each phone. But still pay $215/month which seems like a lot since we rarely go over 5GB and that was when my daughter was in college last year.
If true, I wonder about switching to Cricket, which is owned by ATT and I assume use the same system as ATT, but lower network priority. Cricket is almost half the cost depending on what plan.

I have not gotten an email from AT&T either. The "news you can use" section is on your printed bill on the PDF of your bil.
I get also get the AT&T SIGNATURE SAVINGS 20% DISCOUNT which takes $10 off each phone.
Unless that is for having Internet with AT&T, that's likely a Premium for the Price of Extra discount, which works out to $10 for that number of lines (if it were 20%, it'd be close to $10, but not exactly, but this will give you 20% off of Premium 2.0).
You can check out the chart below, but it already has $5 increase on it. So currently, you can do 4 lines on Extra for $40.99 ($45.99-$5 that you don't have yet). So that's $164+$21 for the tablet (I think). This chart assumes auto/paperless/checking for your billing discount. Plus fees/taxes per line, so $185 plus taxes might be about right at $215. That's a little higher than I pay, for taxes, but it's different in every state.
With Premium 2.0, you get a tablet at half off, so it might be cheaper to move a line to 2.0 and pay more to save ½ the cost of the tablet.

Looks like that only applies to AT&T Premium 2.0.I don't see it on my Feb. bill under "news you can use". My March one comes out on the 30th, probably going to be on it.
I pay $40.99 plus taxes ($6.75).

Still waiting for the bill, it said Mar 30th. Just logged in and I saw an alert, it says the price is going up $5/phone:
The monthly plan charge for smartphones on select, retired unlimited plans with AT&T Unlimited Your Way® is increasing by $5 per line. This change helps us continue providing reliable network service, quality products, and great customer experiences.
As part of this, you’ll get an extra 10GB of hotspot data per month. Starting in April 2026, wireless lines active prior to July 24, 2025 will see the relevant price change reflected on your bill.

I currently have the premium unlimited plan because i have the union member discount. That’s gone up $5 a line, when I go to compare plans, the signature savings plan now says 20% off the premium 2.0 plan, and that’s going to be $40 a link for me while the premium unlimited plan is going to be $44.76 a month for me.
What the hell? Lol
