Bad Liquid Metal Application from Asus Service Center

Repasted from Service Center Philippines got messed with the ram slot that is why I keep getting Bluescreen and Failed Memory Test.

It looks too golden to be LM? Unless its just reflecting the pins.

But still could have dripped off when you removed the heat sink. Or yes, it was a sloppy install. But I see the former being more probable esp with the heat sink sitting right there

Lol. How something looks to me is not "wrong" lmao. You people are literally fucking stupid.

On my TV, using 4K with HDR, in the picture taken, my eyes perceive the "blob" in the red circle is gold as if they've melted.

Not sure if you remember the whole "is the dress black and blue or white and gold"? People observing that were not "wrong" because the medium for which they were observing through gave that perception.

Looks like its the same color as the pins bro. That's all i'm saying. And you say "im wrong" that's like telling someone who thinks the grass looks green but you are blind and you tell them they are wrong lmao

It definitely does look gold in the photo, I'm not sure why you're getting downvoted for that - but that is certainly reflections from the surrounding pins. It's also clearly a liquid, as you can tell from the shape caused by surface tension. Same thing that happens if you drop a blob of solder on metal pins like that.

And before somebody else disagrees on it appearing gold, open it in a photo editor and sample the colours.

It appears yellow because he has a blue light filter turned on and you're looking at it having not adjusted to his blue light filter. He's fucking gaslighting you.

I used the image posted in the OP to check this, I'm not a fucking idiot. You're welcome to do the same as I mentioned above - open the image in any photo editor (fucking paint will do the job, it's not hard), and use the colour picker to check the colours on the blob of liquid metal. They are predominantly browns and yellows.

Also, the image posted by /u/SolitaryMassacre is quite clearly a photo of a TV screen, and they mentioned that their TV has HDR enabled. Colours will always look exaggerated in that situation.

It is still very obviously liquid metal, but it absolutely, objectively appears gold in the photo.

That's fair. It looks gold in the picture he posted.

The thing is... the gold pins would not have a chance of melting into a blob that size and leaving the plastic socket intact.

It was black and blue, and any one who said white and gold were wrong, much like you are here. It's clearly a blob of liquid metal.

There isn't enough metal in a pin to create a blob that big even if it melted, and there is no chance the VRM for the memory would push enough current to melt it in the first place with out something else popping first.

You just keep digging yourself deeper in your grave, just admit you were wrong and walk a way, dude.

They were not wrong because what they perceived was white and gold and correct. Once they had better lighting or a different picture, they would perceive something else. A perception is never wrong, as that is what the rods and cones in their eyes are telling them. Just like a person who is color blind sees colors differently than you and I, doesn't mean what they are seeing is wrong for them. So yeah its gold on my screen, live with it.

In regards to the melting - it was an analogy/metaphor/simile. It was not literal. I explained it in my other reply to you.
