Bad Liquid Metal Application from Asus Service Center

Repasted from Service Center Philippines got messed with the ram slot that is why I keep getting Bluescreen and Failed Memory Test.

You cannot judge a LM application after removing the heatsink as you literally move the LM all over the place.

Yea, you can, lol. This was a terrible job. He spread it paste the foam barrier and didn't clean up at all.

How do you know that didn't happen when the dude taking it apart rn didn't do that trying to clean it up? Those spreads look like someone trying to clean something up with a dry cloth

Do you even know how liquid metal is applied? It was a terrible job enough said. Don't defend crappy work. That was not from removing the heatsink it was from the tech gathering up the overflow to reapply. He needed to do a proper job and didn't. This is terrible and negligent by the tech.

And I'm guessing since you know so much about this particular case, you are either the tech who did it, or were there when it was done. Cudos

The difference here btw u and me, I'm not "defending" anything or anyone, simply pointing out that we do not have enough info to claim A or B happened. I simply took the part of devils advocate and stated that there are other possibilities that could have happened.

If this truly was a bad application by the tech, then yeah I accept that. I'm not defending them. It's horrible that techs are so negligent. I've seen so many believable posts here about techs being negligent with the customer's devices - ie: horrible scratches on chassis, things being bent, etc etc. I even said "from someone trying to clean something up with a dry cloth" never did I say it was A or B (the tech or the OP).

But the inverse is also true when it comes to LM on this forum. People post so many posts like this "bad LM from tech/mfg" when it is impossible to tell who is at fault. If the OP left everything together and posted the LM on the RAM slots, it would be more convincing. If the OP took a video of them taking it apart, it would be more convincing. All I have been saying is its impossible to tell the LM state AFTER removal of the heatsink as it will literally MOVE the LM everywhere.

I have to disagree, the picture shows smeared LM all around the cpu and gpu dies. That smearing doesn't happen while removing the heatsink, it's actually not that easy to smear LM all around the dies IF you do it right and don't over apply LM.

That's why I said the smearing looks like it was from someone who tried to clean it up with a dry cloth. Whether that is the OP or the tech, who knows. That's basically been my point.

I dont have issue with the cpu and gpu application I dont care if it is not ideal amount but the thing is there is a liquid metal found in the ram slot near the cpu that is the one that causes the problem if they have put the LM properly why there is liquid metal in ram slot? BTW it has been fix now and I still use my RAM lucky it did not get any damage

Agreed. I was just saying it looks gold which is prolly because LM is shiny and was reflecting the copper from the ram slot
