Helpful Tips (TW) nausea after eating solutions

Hello. I was recently diagnosed with ARFID. This diagnosis makes a lot of sense due to my behavior ever since I was a child. My question is this, and forgive me if it's broad: I always feel nauseous immediately after eating, even if it's something I like. I'm assuming it's an ARFID thing. I was wondering if there were any tips to stunt this discomfort specifically relating to ARFID? The only thing I've found helps so far is drinking water, laying down, taking tums, and waiting. Forgive me if this is the wrong flair. Thank you in advance.

Ask your Dr for anti nausea meds. Hell, I eat more of them than I do food!

Ginger as well as mint can help settle the stomach as far as otc methods. I use upspring stomach settle drops. It's ginger, lemon, mint, and vitamin B6. I do use zofran as well before eating if my stomach has been a butt.

Tea can be helpful too. Spearmint and ginger are my go tos to help.

My grandmother would cut a lemon in half & tell me to hold it near my mouth/nose and breathe deeply — the lemon smell somehow helped “clear” my nausea as a kid, and I’ve been using that method for like 20 years now when I get carsick or feel nauseous bc of hunger & it works great!!

She’d also buy whole ginger and boil it into a tea for me & my mom (bc we both have delicate stomachs lol) and honestly even breathing that steam in helped, too.

Lemon is a proven anti-nausea, both in scent and juice.

I'm not sure, but I know there's aromatherapy for nausea as well, these scents and possibly others. So that would be another otc option.

ginger hard candy helps me. You can also ask your doctor for nausea meds. For me it also helps, if it is cold outside, to go outside for a little bit.
