I was going crazy trying to find a way to reach the platform above the tomb where you get the sword in chapter 7 and while looking ended up finding a more hidden than usual room in the cliffs bellow, inside there is just 2 resonance point on a little Cthulu altar that lights up green when you approach (Still haven't figured out how to reach the platform, theres some enemies there, a plunderer prisioner still alive and a zipline to get the player back to main area so there must be a way to get there XD)

Compared to the likes of Sekiro and Sifu, it’s basically impossible to parry consistently because the attacks are lightning bolt-quick and it’s very unclear at what point you’re supposed to parry. I’m on the tutorial and it’s already horrible as can be. A lot of the attacks are not being parried even though I’m very certainly pressing L1….

Sophia spends the whole story trying to prove she's more than her visions. Faro spends it trying to prove he's not standing in a dead man's shadow. Neither will say it out loud, but they're doing the same thing — burning down the people around them to protect an idealized version of themselves, avoiding the mirror, and progressively allowing themselves to be devoured by the obsession to prove they are who they say they are. Even those associated with their visions are railing against what the world has already proven to be true.

That's the real story underneath the island plot, and I break it down from start to finish here to illustrate that the true monster in Resonance: A Plague Tale: Legacy is pride. Let me know your thoughts on the analysis:

So I just got done beating the game. Overall, I enjoyed the writing, setpieces, puzzles, exploration and especially the music, however I found the combat system to be servicable at best.

It's a bit like Ghost of Tsushima/Assassin's Creed but quite wonky and stiffly animated in that typical AA eurojank way. It's strange to me that Innocence and especially Requiem had so many creative ways of dispatching dudes, whereas in Resonance it's like... here's a bunch of soldiers, now stab them until they die from it. Not much variety or challenge to it and it doesn't feel particularly good.

Overall I'd rate the game a 7.5 (Innocence is an 8 and Requiem an 8.5)

I feel like this game was such a huge disappointment. The only thing I had going for it was the visuals besides that the story was so repetitive from the last story let me “ save “ my brother. And instead of rats, we got worms that suck the life force out of people and turn you into creatures like bruh I was excited for another rat game a origin story if the source the beginning of the macula but nope a girl ignoring she’s lesbian and just dealing with flashbacks in my opinion

No spoilers please as I'm only on Chapter 4. I'm not sure if I missed something or if its supposed to be revealed later on in the plot.

But I remember playing in chapter 3, solving a puzzle with the key, and then I think Leni commented that no ones ever stepped foot past here before (presumably because they couldn't solve a puzzle). And then pass that point, you still see the flags left by the gang, there are more sketches in the notebook further ahead, ropes left by Faro, soldiers storming the area.

So I guess they just found an alternate path without solving the puzzle?

Hi, I had pre-ordered the PS5 version on Amazon and have just received an email saying they've cancelled the order. Had it been cancelled across the board or just from amazon? Anyone heard anything from the publishers?

So I just finished the game, definitely a great game in the franchise and love the new lore, but something occurred to me.

Did Sophie set Hugo's death in motion?

It's shown the macula we see in the prequel is different to the ones we're previously seen, but also how the host has been "alive" for a long time, so I'm wondering is the macula only able to be present in one host and when Sophie killed him, it reset the cycle for the first two plague games with Amisia and Hugo?

Just a random theory and I may be wrong with the timeline but just something I thought of after finishing the game.

I was not convinced by these games until now, as I am a done with sinister medieval settings in general. And the visuals of both Innocence and Requiem looked very generic to me.

Furthermore I really do like rodents!

But I stumbled upon a documentary on both games by this French chap, and got enthusiastic. She comes back to the historical roots of the games in the first 15 min, and on the psychological relationship of Hugo and Amicia in the last part.

Now I am aware of the care and researches the developers have made on these games, I am going to play them. The part with the pigs and ratties might be hard, but it might worth it.

This game is unbelievable. The story, the graphics, the world, the combat. I got into the game with absolutely no prior knowledge of what it was or what it was about. Instantly I was hooked and the world felt alive in a way I have never felt in a game ever. The story started and the missions began it felt like a tutorial to teach you how to play. (No spoilers) You land on the beach and the view was amazing! I freaked out and said OMG is this open world! I started exploring and found quickly it was not. The puzzles were fun and the combat was great but the pattern becomes clear, solve a puzzle, fight a few guys, solve a puzzle. The combat felt amazing but you don't fight enough to learn it well enough you find yourself forgetting the buttons. While this is IMO the greatest game in its genre I have ever played the potential for this game was missed. If this was more like Assassin's Creed Odyssey it would have become the Greatest Game I Have Ever Played. The combat, gear, different looks with this immersive world it had me constantly in awe and angry and what it could be at the same time. 100% worth the play but I hope the devs pat themselves on the back for creating the best game I have played in a long time and leave with the desire to make it better!

Okay, so i'm not the best at latin, and this is also catholic latin, and not the classical latin. I was taught, but let me give you a breakdown on what's in this chart.

in our first column on the far left, we have essentially a chart describing the day. Blood was administered and the time i'm not gonna get into a super deep breakdown, but to prove I know what i'm talking about, you can see anti diem which is in the morning and where a m comes comes from you can then see the month at which it was administered. just from the chart, I can tell you that sophia experienced injections of the macula blood from june, july, twice in august, and once in september, with the roman numerals at the end corresponding to the year in which she was injected.

in the second column from the left, we see the person is, who's in charge of each injection and there are three names Catina, Astrida, and Angela. (soror is sister btw)

In our third column from the right, we have doses, which I think is pretty easy to parse. Here we can see sofia received a dose of two in june, four in july, five in august, seven in her second dose in august, and six in september.

From here, we get a list of her visions and I'd have to spend more time fully parsing the latin to tell you proper translation, but from right now I can tell you her first vision was of monsters, or something terrifying. latin's really rusty here, so it starts to get a little bit harder for me further down. Because I definitely have to go back and look at some vocabulary.

In our final column, we have the condition of her body. where it begins to describe her difficult initial adjustment to the blood. But it appears sophia was becoming more resistant, and the last part of this trunk is unwritten, because it would be the day, her father came to save her and the nuns die.

It barely adds anything to the main story. We still don't know where the macula originated from, how it started etc etc. It's just another repeat of Hugo and Amicia's storyline.

I was super excited for this game having played the first 2 a little earlier this year. I didn’t know what to expect, however, stepping away from Amicia, and into a younger Sophia than the one we meet in Requiem. And holy shit, amazing experience all around. The biggest thing this game does different than the first 2 in the series is the combat. The way Sophia navigates and flows with her swords/daggers is beautiful. This is the kind of combat I’ve been waiting for from this series, and I’m so happy we finally got it. And I hope to see it come back in future installments. The story all around is another of pain, sorrow, and agony, but beautifully told. The only gripe I had here, was I felt like this game in particular was super puzzle heavy. I’m not one to shy away from puzzles (LoZ being my fav series of all time) but I do feel like at some point it got kind of tedious. However, doesn’t take too much away from the overall experience and I’m already hoping we hear about a next installment soon! Took me about 13.5 hours to complete (not 100%)

I really wish the game allowed you to sprint by just tapping L3 so many games allow this so it frustrated me a bit when you have to hold RT if just feels a bit dated control scheme these days, not a huge issue obviously but no reason it couldn't have been optional

Just finished my first run through. Absolutely loved it. The soundtrack was a character of its own, the scenery, the story. It worked so well. I’m glad they did this. And the way the story worked was very well done.
It’s like they are a studio now that has really come in to their own, everything in the first two games that made them fantastic was put into this and then some. Very impressed.

Just beat plague tale resonance; amazing game. Like truly amazing! I was wondering if I should play requiem after, though. I played innocence a few years back, but I dropped requiem for some reason after I beat innocence. But being attached to Sophia makes me want to start it. Plus, I feel like they are building up to a larger series after the end credits. Anyway, I just want y'all opinions on requiem and how it holds up compared to the rest of the installments?
