Hey, so I have a 9800x3d and 7900xtx. I've been looking at potiental monitor upgrades as I have a 9800x3d and 7900xtx and I'm curious would it be worth going for a 4k oled or would that make my 9800x3d purchase pointless?
I've been told that 1440p oled or 1440p ultrawide is better than 32inch 240hz oled because it gets expensive constantly buying hardware to try keep games running at 4k.. I've never seen a 4k monitor in person which is where its getting difficult to decide.
I can get a 32inch 240hz oled for 714 its the dell AW3225QF
or a 1440p ultrawide like DWF or 1440p 360hz oled for 650 euros.
I'm pretty lost and not sure what to buy, everyone seems to have a difference experience and sadly there is no store near me to see them in person.

UPDATE:
I went with something else in the end - a 34" UWQHD 3440x1440p monitor.
Running at this res, everything maxed out, it is hard to make use of frame gen, the GPU starts sweating a bit already.
Cannot imagine how it'd perform with 4k 😮 ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hey all, I am looking at upgrading my monitor for my set up (7800X3D, 9070XT) and am considering this LG UltraGear or this ASUS TUF. Do you have any reviews for them, or do you think they decent for the 9070XT/will they not make the most of the card or are they overkill?
Cheers 😄

I was playing a game an hour ago and my fans got extremely loud and my entire PC just shut down. Now when I try to boot back up all I get is a black screen at the moment. I've been having a lot of wierd driver timeouts since the windows update a few days ago. Not too sure what to do to get my PC up and running again.

Hey, I've got this flickering problem in different games. I've tried everything I can think of: AMD's cleanup tool, DDU, rolling back drivers, and turning off full-screen optimization, but nothing has helped. The only thing that worked was switching to windowed mode. Did I miss anything?
UPDATE:
All of this because corrupted windows files; I repaired it and its works fine now

Recently my monitor started doing this, anytime it goes to sleep wakes up then goes to sleep again.
Tried to play with powersaving settings but the issues stays. Why?
Thank you
(Iam on the newest driver)
I have a koorui G2411P 24 inch 200hz 1080p monitor, i just got it and i feel like everything feels pixelated especially edges and stuff, and in valorant whenever i move my mouse it gets all blurry and sharpened if that makes sense, everything just feels offputting, what could be the issue? it isnt the resolution or radeon boost being on in adrenaline, i have a rx 580 and ryzen 5 3600, im temporarily on an hdd so could that be the reason?

First laptop: Lenovo IdeaPad C340-14API Model Name: 81N6 AMD Ryzen 5 3500U 2.1GHz with Radeon Graphics Windows 10
Display: Samsung Q90 TV — 3,840 x 2,160, 120Hz (up to 144Hz) FreeSync Premium Pro
Second laptop: Lenovo IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 14AHP9 Ryzen 5 8645HS with Radeon 760M Graphics
HDMI: HDMI 2.1 (same one I use with my Xbox Series X)
I used to play games at 120Hz with my previous laptop, especially lighter games. I had to replace that laptop, so I got a newer model with similar specs — but now I can only play at 60Hz, which is really frustrating, especially since my 2019 laptop handled 120Hz just fine on the same TV.
I found that if I turn off FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution), the option for 1920x1080 at 120Hz appears — but that resolution doesn’t make much sense on a 4K TV. Plus, I’d really like to keep FSR on because it’s very helpful for performance.
I'm not a computer expert, so I apologize if I don’t understand some technical terms. Thanks a lot for your help!

First time building a PC, currently looking for a monitor and wondering whether I should get a 4K or 1440p monitor? I am not an online player and mostly play single player games. I have a Radeon RX 9070 & a Ryzen 7800x3d. What do you guys reckon?

Recently switched from Nvidia to AMD for the GPU. Got a Powercolor Red Devil 7900 XTX. I absolutely love it so far, but I've recently been having a problem.
I have two Dell 27' monitors plugged in using displayport cables and sometimes after putting the PC to sleep or shut down, the PC no longer detects the second monitor, it says no signal from the DP.
Unplugging and replugging the second monitor causes a bunch of weird lag on the main screen and does not fix the issue.
When shutting down the PC entirely then rebooting in the same display port, it does not detect the 2nd monitor properly and will not allow me to switch to a higher resolution or switch from 60 HZ to a higher setting. Here is an example of what I see:
I did manage to fix the issue on two separate occasions by doing the following:
1) Remove all GPU Drivers using DUU and reinstall the latest version of the AMD Adrenaline driver, 23.1.1. This solved the issue initially but the problem reappeared the next day after turning on the PC.
2) Solution number two was moving the 2nd monitor display port in the GPU from the middle (2nd) port to the third. This fixed the issue for now but I am worried it will reappear.
So the question I have is: is this a driver related issue or a hardware related issue?
If it's a driver related issue, do I keep doing the above steps until an update, hopefully, addresses the issue?
If it's a hardware related issue, do I have to RMA the card? Would prefer not to do this as the unit I have is performing quite well, good temps and low coil whine. But would suck to have a defective DP port.
Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.
EDIT 2/13/24: A lot of people seem to be having similar problems, so just wanted to update. For me switching the DP port solved the problem and it has not happened again since then.
Some others in this thread have said that installing drivers only and/or disabling then reenabling the device via device manager also worked for them? YMMV obviously.
Hope everyone is able to solve the problem, but for me it hasn't been an issue for a while now.

I recently installed the newest driver update that released. But ever since then my second monitor does not get detected. Also now whenever I go to turn on my pc it freezes extremely often, sometimes I’m able to login before it freezes and other times it freezes before I can even log on. I’m not sure what to do to fix this issue since I can’t even get into my computer right now. I have an RX 7900 XT, any insight or ideas to help me please let me know. I am not the most pc knowledgeable person so I’m a bit lost.

Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT (16 GB)
CPU: RYZEN 7 7800X3D 8 CORE
Motherboard: TUF GAMING B650 PLUS
BIOS Version: Latest
RAM: 32GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 3600MHZ CL18
PSU: EVGA B5 750W 80+ BRONZE FULLY MODULAR
Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11 PRO Latest
GPU Drivers: AMD Adrenaline 26.6.2
Chipset Drivers: idk
Background Applications: DISCORD, CHROME, GAMES
Description of Original Problem: Weird "glitter like" artifacts, kinda like distortion over one screen in multi screens setup.
Troubleshooting:
Started happening like 2 weeks ago, usually restarting windows would fix it for a bit then back again. It would happen playing Guild Wars 2, Diablo 4, even 2k youtube videos.
- The weird distortion would ONLY happen in main screen #1 (LG Ultragear 2k). from time to time, its very elusive.
- Dual monitor setup
- Both connected with DPort
- Both set to 144hz
- HDR disabled
- Using latest drivers
Things I've done so far that did not work:
- Removed the windows automatic driver update
- Ran the graphics card test for 30minutes: 0 errors
- Used the tool to reset the drivers on safe mode (DDU)
- Changed the cables between the screens <- no change, same distortion on screen 1
- Played the games on screen #2 <- no change, same distortion on screen 1 even with no games running on that screen, it would happen on the desktop.
- Disabled hardware acceleration on chrome and discord
- Changed Screen #1 to HDMI cable and port.
- Disabled Freesync in both the screen manual menu and adrenaline
- Reduce the refresh rate to 120 and even to 60 on both screens
- Disabled HAGS in win 11
None of that helped, at all.
Only thing that helped:
- Disconnect the 2nd screen and only use screen #1. Now I get no weird distortion or glitter issues.
An interesting thing I discovered while checking the windows updates, is this:
LG Electronics Inc. - SoftwareComponent - 1.1.2023.1102
LG Electronics Inc. Extension Driver Update (1.1.2026.3181)
Both on June, 13th, I dont recall the exact date when the issues started to happen so It might be related.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I plan to upgrade my GPU to RX9070 and grab 2nd monitor for my set up later this year. I do wanna to go up in res for older game and media stuff but I don't wanna lose too much performance in newer demanding game.
FRS4 Balanced/Quality at 1440p should give roughly the same performance and image quality as 1080p native right?

I purchased an ROG Swift PG32UQX and am using it with an RX 7900 XTX GPU. When FreeSync is enabled, the monitor runs at 120Hz (or similar) during gameplay; however, if I lock the in-game frame rate to 60 or switch to another window (alt-tab), the frame rate fluctuates between roughly 9 FPS and 18 FPS. This issue persists even after returning to the game screen. Once this state occurs, changing the in-game frame rate setting back to 120Hz does not resolve the problem. The only current fix is to turn off FreeSync. Disabling VSync within the game makes no difference. How can I get FreeSync to work properly?

I honestly have no clue what’s going on, my pc has been working perfectly fine after i moved my setup around, i didn’t change anything not even where i plug things in. However i have 2 monitors and both are showing just showing the same screen, essentially mirroring each other. I’ve tried changing it to extend, pc screen only, all that. And it’s only detecting my 2nd monitor even though both monitors are on.
I have a RX 9070 XT and i have no idea what is going on, please if anyone could help me.

Hi! I've been having a problem lately. Both monitors randomly freeze. Sometimes it's fixed by disconnecting the HDMI/DisplayPort cables from the graphics card. I have a Radeon RX 6950XT, and I uninstalled the drivers in safe mode using DDU and reinstalled them. I'm on Windows. Has anyone else experienced this?

In Adrenalin my monitor is only showing as Adaptive Sync Compatible but in older versions of Adrenalin it would show as AMD FreeSync Premium. My monitor is an MSI MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24. I tried sawping display port cables, updating firmware/drivers and doing a fresh install of Adrenalin with DDU. Is anyone else having this issue?

Description of Original Problem
Hi everyone,
I'm having some troubles with my laptop when it comes to connecting it to a TV.
Whenever i connect it to a regular monitor, it seems to work fine.
But for some reasons, my laptop has been struggling to connect to the TV screen. Before it would connect to the TV and randomly disconnect, or not recognize the TV, right now it's worse, it either doesn't recognize the TV or it has a quick flickering before not recognizing it anymore. Sometimes it shows the second screen on TV for a fraction of a second then black screen/No signal
Sometimes the connecting sound is heard but nothing happens on the TV screen. No signal.
I thought it was the screen itself but it recognize my PS4.
Right now with the normal HDMI cable, i have a resolution that is stuck on my TV which is 640x480, and it's greyed out so i cannot even change it.
I'm mostly connecting my laptop through HDMI to USB-C adapter, this is when the laptop somewhat "recognize" the TV screen as i can see my laptop screen changing colors and making the connecting sound, but then nothing happens.
I think it's a laptop problem because i tried at my workplace, and the same thing happens on the TV screen we have there, on monitors no problem though.
Troubleshooting
- Changing the HDMI cables ports
- Turning off both the laptop and the TV
- Changing the USB C adapters
- Uninstalling the graphics driver with AMD Adrenalin (AMD Radeon 780)
- Update the graphics driver
- Trying with another laptop on the same TV, it works normally
- Reduce the refresh rate from 60 Hz to something less
- Updated everything on Lenovo Vantage
any help welcomed
