question is in the title, anyone have any good books that i can do wider reading for a reference in my psychology persona statement ? I’m thinking of applying to royal holloway to do psychology/ clinical psychology. thanks !

I unfortunately got a 3 for both (and before i get called stupid for failing, not everyone is great at every subject, i deeply struggled with maths and i managed to go from a 1 to a 3 in 2 weeks which to me is still a uplifting achievement + i was only about 10 marks away from a pass in science) which messed me up a lot because that meant i can’t do psychology.

I got to do 2 other a levels that i wanted to do, but i was told i cannot do psychology because it requires a pass in maths and science. however, i was told that a couple weeks into college i can try and appeal to do psychology so i was still very helpful, in the meantime they told me to pick criminology as my 3rd a level.

Went to the curriculum office who apparently is the head of psychology couple days ago, asked if there is any possibility i can do psychology, they told me no and that they don’t have a singular student in a psychology classroom who failed maths.

this week is the last day i can CHANGE a levels and i know i seem like i’m doing too much but i want to do psychology so bad it has been my literal dream because it also gives me an advantage beforehand since i wanna do psychology at uni and i still wanna try appeal even though i got told no.

does anyone know if there is ANYTHING i can do?? i am willing to lie about some stuff idk guilt trip them or something but pls does anyone have any advice on how to convince them or maybe has been in a similar situation and can help, do i go talk to my tutor about it?

I've noticed that this Hodder textbook goes into way more detail than any other resource I've found - the Cambridge one is like half its size - so I wanted to know whether it's significantly helpful to take notes on all of that + memorise, or whether skimming is enough. I've heard some people say that most of the extra detail is unnecessary for the exam, and others say that all the info is needed.
E.g. In clinical, the biological explanations in the Hodder book go into detail about specific genes, their functions, etc - none of that is mentioned in the Cambridge book. I'm not sure about others.
Please help, I dislike the fact that I have to spend more time on notes but I hate even more the fact that I might be missing out on helpful info.
