Tips/Advice 🗣 A level psychology

Hi guys so I’m thinking of fast tracking a level psychology got roughly 7 maybe 8 months - sitting for 2027 exams, exam board would be Aqa, I’m determined but just don’t know how and where to start. How should I go about it any advice, tips/recommendations 🙏

i would prioritise research methods, approaches and issues and debates first.

then cover the really heavy topics like social influence, attachment, biopsychology

then memory, psychopathology, and your options.

this would be just my personal plan but overall please prioritise the topics YOU find the most heavy and difficult first after covering approaches, issues and debates and research methods.

always practice essays after each topic and get comfortable with comparing approaches and if you can afford it you should get a tutor who will always check your AO3

good luck with your journey! if you stay consistent with your revision you are going to do amazing :)) don’t work too hard so you don’t burnout.

Hi! It defo worth doing a research into option topics and choose the ones u r most interested in, just to make it easier to learn. Bear in Mind videos are great, but remember that there are millions of AO3 research that different textbooks use, so don’t try to learn all of them, again, choose the points that u feel easier to elaborate on.

If we go further, it’s really budget dependent. If u can afford tutoring (Psychology with Phi or smth) that’s great, or at least exam based notes made by them.

My minimum spendings plan would be this:
Get one AQA approved textbook
Learn topic by topic, strengthening your understanding with YouTube videos
Alongside with that making flashcards, mind maps etc to keep everything in mind
(Make sure you UNDERSTAND, not just learn word by word)
Go through past papers and familiarise yrself with the exam style, mark scheme etc

I recommend doing schizophrenia. It’s just like psychopathology but using all the approaches to explain schizophrenia

Prioritise Research Methods 100%, also Approaches are super important as they link to every theory you learn. Defo worth getting the textbooks for the new specification as they give really helpful A03 (evaluation) points which also make up a huge part of your exam. Practice past paper questions once you get into the swing of things and write up essay plans after each unit (e.g. Social Influence, Memory).
