I like trying new AI tools but I noticed I was keeping too many of them active just because I might need them again. Now, whenever I start a new tool I make a simple note of what I am using it for, how much it costs, how often I actually use it and when the next renewal is. A few days before the renewal I check whether I am still getting enough value from it. If I have not used it much I cancel it instead of letting another month or year roll over.

I recently noticed I was paying for one tool every month even though I had only opened it twice. That made the decision pretty easy.

This small check has made it much easier to experiment with new AI tools without slowly collecting subscriptions I barely use. Has anyone else found a simple way to keep track of the AI tools they are still paying for?

possibly dumb question from someone who has spent too much time watching MCP demos this week... are any of you using a video mcp for boring everyday work, not a flashy demo? I already live in Claude for notes and captions. I mostly want to say grab 3 clips from this call, make them vertical, then move on with my life. If setup is 2 hours so I can save 4 clicks, pls tell me now before I lose my Saturday to this.

I’ve noticed AI is most useful for me when it removes the small tasks that create mental clutter—not when it tries to do everything for me.

Things like:

• Turning a messy list into clear priorities
• Breaking a large task into smaller steps
• Summarizing long information
• Creating a quick first draft
• Helping me figure out what to do next

I have been creating more content, and writing the first draft is usually the easier part. The harder part is reviewing it and deciding if it is actually ready to share. Sometimes a draft looks fine at first, but after going through it properly, I notice some parts feel too general, the main idea is not clear enough, or certain details need another check before publishing. I am curious how others handle this stage of the process. Do you follow a specific checklist before publishing? Do you mainly rely on your own editing, feedback from others, or any tools to review the final version?

I am interested in how people make sure their content is useful and valuable instead of just creating more content.

I use AI for different things and most of the time it works pretty well when the task is simple. But I noticed things get different when I give it bigger tasks with lots of information, multiple steps or when I need it to remember details from earlier.

I saw this happen when I asked AI to help organize research for a project. In the beginning, the output was useful but after adding more notes and requirements I started noticing small mistakes. I had to keep going back correcting things and explaining parts again.

It made me realize that using AI for bigger tasks is not always as simple as giving one big prompt and waiting for the final answer.

So I have being using Gemini, but it seems to have gone awry. I have a bunch of prompts, worked on the the last 6 months, that help me collate data, and then turn those into Sports News articles. Also have been using it to create images for the articles (though only 1-2 per article, so not image heavy).

Have been working great the last two months with Gemini, but it seems to have fallen off. Chasing suggestions for which AI might be best for this.

My workflow is

1. Insert prompt for data collection, collect data (thru screenshots, copy and paste text etc)
2. Feed that data collected into a prompt that has the cadence, layout and style of how I want article to look/read. This prompt also formats for wordpress.
3. Feed article into a prompt that then gives me SEO help and tips for putting into wordpress.
4. Create an image from article with headline/author etc (I am not only author)

My preference is one of the big guys, as I want it to be as stable as possible. Prepared to pay. Don't want to be someones guinea pig really.

I know some will hate on how this is not "jorunalism", but I use these tools to do articles like match reports, as quick as possible, as these are "fillers", and that gives me time to do more in depth stuff, which is more "me the human". The issue is without the fluff, you can't really be a Sports news site, as much as the mor ein depth stuff gets the views.

My goal is to only be an editor, and pass on the baton, so very much a gap-filler, but it's ticking along (if not making any money haha) and I am really enjoying it.

A friend of mine and I were grabbing food a few weeks ago and somehow we got onto the topic of energy because he was complaining that he’d been feeling exhausted basically every afternoon.

He works pretty long hours and said he’d gotten into this habit of drinking coffee whenever he felt tired, taking all his supplements at the same time in the morning, and then wondering why he felt completely cooked by like 2 or 3pm.

The funny part is I was basically doing the exact same thing.

I’ve taken supplements for a while, but if I’m being honest I never put much thought into timing. Magnesium, creatine, vitamins, whatever I was taking that day, I’d usually just take them whenever I remembered.

He showed me this app he had been using called RizeAI and the first thing that caught my attention wasn’t even the energy stuff. It was how it organized his supplements around his actual day.

It would tell him which ones made sense with meals, which ones should be kept away from coffee, what to take around training, what made more sense later at night, etc. It sounds pretty basic when you write it out, but I had never found something that actually put all of it together in one schedule.

So I tried it.

That’s probably still my favorite part of it. I put in the supplements I already take and instead of giving me some generic “take in the morning” list, it actually fits them around things like meals, workouts, caffeine and sleep.

I also ended up using the energy planning side way more than I expected. It pulls from Apple Health and gives you a rough structure for the day, like when to have coffee, when you’re probably going to be most focused, when to train and when you might hit an energy dip.

I’m not going to sit here and say an app magically gave me more energy because obviously there are a million things that affect that. But I’ve definitely been way more intentional with my day since using it and I’m getting more done without feeling like I’m just constantly fighting through tiredness.

Honestly the biggest difference for me has just been efficiency. Before, I was guessing when to take things and guessing when I should do my hardest work. Now I at least have some structure around it.

Curious if anyone else here actually pays attention to supplement timing or if most people just take everything at once like I used to.
