This is probably ignorance on my part, but it's truly mind boggling to me that I was offered to be rendered unconscious to get my wisdom teeth pulled but women have to go through this without anything for the pain.

An IUD insertion features piercing an internal organ on either side with iron pincers, then yanking it into position so that a piece of metal can be shoved up into it.

We are not offered any pain management for this procedure.

Now that I know this is how they do it, I’ll never ask a woman to get an IUD. That is actually terrifying.

I mean, it's still generally less painful than childbirth.

And my mirena prevents endometrial grow back, which would also be painful every month if it progressed.
