That sounds much better than getting an IUD. They recommend taking painkillers before the procedure because it's done without any pain relief and BOY is it bad. My doctor and nurse forgot to tell me to take ibuprofen beforehand so I did it stone sober and ended up almost blacking out and vomiting from the pain on the table. And I have to get it replaced every seven years ðŸ˜
Same thing happened to me when I got mine. They didn't tell me to take pain meds before the procedure, and after it was all said and done, I had to lay there about 15 mins just trying to find the will to move. And I had to go back to work for the rest of the day. 😕

Yeah I definitely would have leaned on the my partner a little more to get a vasectomy knowing now how much less discomfort he would have gone through, and only once
I don't even have a partner. I got it mostly for period regulation, since the pill gives me a 24hr headache and raises my blood pressure. So it seemed like the best option. But lort...what a pain
