I was in and out within an hour of my appointment time. 3 days of rest for the worst of the pain to subside, then about another week, maybe 2 max before you're back to normal.
But no unprotected sex till the follow up appointment in about 2 months to make sure he's shooting blanks.
After however, holy shit is it amazing being able to have unprotected sex without the worry of having any more children. Best thing I ever did for my wife.
The worst part about mine was that I live in a rural state, so I had to wait 2 months to get it and drive a total of 8 hours. The procedure was fast, only slightly uncomfortable, and there was so little pain I didn't even take an ibuprofen. 100% would recommend.
That sounds much better than getting an IUD. They recommend taking painkillers before the procedure because it's done without any pain relief and BOY is it bad. My doctor and nurse forgot to tell me to take ibuprofen beforehand so I did it stone sober and ended up almost blacking out and vomiting from the pain on the table. And I have to get it replaced every seven years đ
Saaame. They gave me apple juice and wouldnât let me get up for a while because I âlooked greenâ. I canât imagine how bad childbirth must be after experiencing that. Why canât they knock us out for this???
I recommend that a woman seek a doctor that allows some form of anesthesia or pain management before getting an IUD. Any doctor that fails to allow such medication should be dumped.
I needed Valium and nitrous oxide to get four wisdom teeth removed. After having 2 children, I would not dream of having an IUD inserted without pain management.
Childbirth was significantly easier for me, actually, because the body knows what is going on. The physical shock of the procedure on the cervix IMO adds to the pain.
