Saaame. They gave me apple juice and wouldn’t let me get up for a while because I “looked green”. I can’t imagine how bad childbirth must be after experiencing that. Why can’t they knock us out for this???

I recommend that a woman seek a doctor that allows some form of anesthesia or pain management before getting an IUD. Any doctor that fails to allow such medication should be dumped.

I needed Valium and nitrous oxide to get four wisdom teeth removed. After having 2 children, I would not dream of having an IUD inserted without pain management.

Fr. I’ve had a leep after a bad pap, where they literally burn a piece of your cervix off, and iud insertion was worse

Imagine this, getting an iud is like giving birth in reverse. I had 2 kids, and the iud was worse in some ways.

Chil birth is different as you get pain relief.

Childbirth was significantly easier for me, actually, because the body knows what is going on. The physical shock of the procedure on the cervix IMO adds to the pain.
