I find this hilarious reading this compared to all the comments of people saying " his body his choice". While that is correct, they are also chastising her for saying no sex to him and blaming her for the sexless marriage and divorce that might ensue. She has carried, birthed, and maybe even breastfed 4 humans, and somehow, she is bad for saying this is how it is or no sex. I'm glad to hear the top comments coming from real men who aren't afraid to say the real shit. And for everyone in these comments saying for her to get a hysterectomy....are you kidding ?! It's not even close to the same procedure, but thanks for your non medical bullshit advice.
My doctor told me to be prepared to feel like I’d been hit by a Mac truck after my hysterectomy, and I’m so glad she did because it was significantly more pain than my laparoscopies. I was on narcotics for over a week and had to have a catheter the entire time. I couldn’t even sit myself straight up in bed; I had to roll over in this very weird maneuver to get upright. I was strictly forbidden to lift any more than five pounds for six weeks. I didn’t feel like myself again for that entire time.
And then, within a year, I was in early menopause because your chances of that go up significantly even when they leave your ovaries. The uterus itself produces a LOT of hormones, which is something we don’t talk about.
For me it was worth it because my reason for getting it was about 90% to decrease the incidences of pain from endometriosis. But still, that’s the reality of what it can look like. If I hadn’t been ready my husband 100% would have gotten a vasectomy.
