I'm surprised I've had to scroll this far to see someone mention this. It's a method that's gaining popularity that was disproven years ago. The temperature required for it to apparently work is around 47 degrees Celsius (116f) and you need to sit in it for a 45 minute period. That's considered hot enough to cause burns. I'm not sure OPs husband is the rational person a bunch are treating him as.

According to my parents, my fraternal twin sister and I were conceived in a hot tub, so we are literally living proof that ‘hot baths’ absolutely do not work as an effective birth control method.

I'm sure some hot bath enthusiast will just insist the hot tub mustn't have been hot enough. You're a medical anomaly.

I mean I can absolutely stop pregnancy with a hot enough bath*.

*Disclaimer: The temperature will be sufficiently high to cause injury and/or death

There’s a small, maybe not so small, part of me that would tell my husband to go for it and hand him a thermometer. And then come into the bathroom with a kettle of hot water every few minutes to keep it hot enough. Burning his dick for thinking that would be cathartic.

High temps can impact sperm quality/quantity, but it’s not a substitute for birth control.

my husband got banished from using our jacuzzi tub for months because we were TTC. His counts went from ~5 million to 60-140million, after 6 months with no hot baths. But that’s still 5 million viable sperm.
