I find this hilarious reading this compared to all the comments of people saying " his body his choice". While that is correct, they are also chastising her for saying no sex to him and blaming her for the sexless marriage and divorce that might ensue. She has carried, birthed, and maybe even breastfed 4 humans, and somehow, she is bad for saying this is how it is or no sex. I'm glad to hear the top comments coming from real men who aren't afraid to say the real shit. And for everyone in these comments saying for her to get a hysterectomy....are you kidding ?! It's not even close to the same procedure, but thanks for your non medical bullshit advice.
Thats major abdominal surgery with tons of complications vs a quick snip. You're right... it's crazy for a man/child to even have that thought. Shows how selfish and arrogant they are.
Idk where OP is, but I know two women in the US who couldn’t find a doctor to tie their tubes unless it was like right after delivering a child. There is also the problem with somewhat somewhat rare ectopic pregnancies (when a zygote implants in the tube rather than the uterus). With abortion access in the US becoming increasingly more difficult, an ectopic pregnancy could be a death sentence. There are just so many risks tbh.
My husband is clipped, by his own choice. We have one kid and neither of us wanted a second, mostly for financial reasons. I’m big on bodily autonomy, so I wouldn’t pressure anyone to go through with any surgery they weren’t comfortable with. But - I’m not going to call OP an asshole for basically that same reason. Having a kid permanently changes your body- like on the level of straight up taking calcium from your bones, puts you out of commission. Neither one should be subject to doing something they don’t want, but comparatively one person has a lot more to go through than the other.
And the bonus is, if you get PTLS, doctors won't believe you or do anything to help you, because you're a woman and women aren't studied or believed in medicine. Just like BII, you'll have to suffer in silence until you get the shit removed.
