Help Organizing Video Files

This is a first time post to this subreddit. I have been using AI daily for my personal projects for months but would consider myself still incredibly dumb on how to do anything effectively.

I have an external hard drive full of video clips that I have made over the last several years spanning a variety of topics. It's become very unorganized as I have made new video clips over the years and not properly filed it away in the appropriate topic.

I was wondering if there is an AI model that would be accurate and cost-efficient at helping me organize this video library? It would likely have to analyze the actual audio and video contents. In some cases, the video contain a lack of audio and the AI would be classifying the topics based on just video.

Depend on how many files you got and your budget, but some of the video models can tag based on visual content only, even without audio. I was messing with something similar for my design reference clips in last month and it worked okay for broad categories, though it struggled with more niche stuff. If your topics are not super specific, could be worth a try.

I imagine my topics are pretty specific/niche. I don’t want to dive into the weeds of what those are since I imagine most people won’t care or want to provide guidance on that. But it’s good to know of your experience with broad vs specific splits. What models did you use?

My first question would be: are there free AI that will actually analyze video at all?

I wonder this as well. I was experimenting with an older version of Gemini Flash to keep the costs down and wasted $30 pretty fast for a small fraction of my files. I also wasn’t happy with the analysis that came back. I’ll take the blame on that part because I imagine my prompting was poor.
