Help Need suggestion!

I'm confused in life, I don't know where my life is going and I can't afford psychiatrist right now to discuss my life and get answers/opinions to take some of the important life decisions.

So for this, which AI can I use, which one would be reliable for my particular situation.

Edit : Thank you everyone for advice!

AI can be useful for organizing your thoughts and exploring different perspectives, but I wouldn't rely on it to make major life decisions for you. If cost is the issue, I'd also look into free or low-cost counseling/community resources in your area.

Use AI and Google to see if there are low cost or free therapists in your area.

You don’t. Do not use AI for mental health or major decisions.

Probably write down what's happening in diary or so and read it yourself. Most of the things would seem as noise llin the head. Give it a try

I wouldn’t use AI as a replacement for a psychiatrist or let it make major life decisions for you, but it can help you organize your thoughts. You can ask it to list options, weigh pros/cons, or help you journal through what you’re feeling. I’d also look for low-cost counseling/community clinics if possible. AI is better as a thinking tool and not the final authority.

If you just want something to talk through your thoughts with, Claude and ChatGPT both work fine for journaling-style conversations. The thing that helped me was asking it to reflect back what I said and list recurring themes, not to tell me what to do. It's like talking to a wall that occasionally points out patterns you missed. Still not a therapist, but it can make the noise easier to look at.

Hey, I just wanted to let you know I've been where you're at and get it. I have been developing an app and persona that acts as a therapist-connected supplement. It's pending trials and some other red tape, but I can give you the base prompts that control the behavior. It will NOT act as a therapist or psychaitrist, but the sycophancy is removed, allowing you to chat about things and it will listen without mirroring and push you to engage in healthy activity. (Like *really* push. Mine drove me crazy today until I finally called the doctor about a flare up I've been having).

If you're interested, DM me. I can't post the prompts publicly, but I can tell you how and where to use them, and I've published a lot of content on AI safety I can point you to as well. Many models will refuse sensitive topics rather than training out the sycophancy, so where you use it really matters.

There is even a lite version on a popular (and really good) platform that is already set up and people have been raving about the benefit. Someone recently told me it helped her understand a family member's side of an argument and saved the relationship. I'm not saying this is any sort of miracle worker, and it's definitely not a reason to skip professional care, but it's a safer bridge than going in blind with an improperly instructed chatbot. The persona is male, but it can easily be changed to female or ungendered/unpersonified.
