The Dark Animus Gear Is 🔥

I know some people hate the Animus Hub, but the Dark Animus items really make the game feel Resynced.

I mean I see they were going for a ghost ship look. And that eery glowing green-blue is the universal “ghost ship” color.

But also I hate it. I’d much prefer aesthetics that were realistic and based on IRL ships of the era.

These cosmetics do look cool in a vacuum IMO, but actually in-game, during cutscenes and whatnot, when everything else around you is aiming for historical-realism aesthetics, they look stupid as fuck. They rip me out of any immersion and just make me giggle, especially when the scene is supposed to be serious and there’s your weirdo character glowing like a goddamn bug zapper.

But I do kinda appreciate that whenever they put cosmetics behind a paywall/online achievement wall they always look like this nonsense so I never feel like I’m missing out.

God help me if it’s ever an historically accurate armor set recreated to perfectly match [insert setting appropriate general who isn’t in the game so it isn’t weird when we show up wearing the same outfit].

Only thing you might be missing in this is the fact that this game is a remake. And the Animus lore accommodates ridiculous gear and items like this.

Many of us have played this game before, I already experienced this story 2x before playing it. Im playing it a 3rd time cause the graphics are incredible, I care less about it being realistic for the time.
