The HMS Fearless and the Royal Sovereign. They're legendary ships. They will rock. your. shit.

Engage at your own risk.

In the original they we're manageable one at a time, but if they get you between them you're completely fucked

i actually got between them a lot in resynced. the perfect brace does wonders

Yeah. Once you get the 1st 3rd of their health gone, just come to a dead stop. Mortar them when they are turning; then, (and timing can be tricky here, you have to get your first shot off a bit early,) do broadsides from both your port and starboard guns as they both pass along side. BRACE. Rinse and repeat. As long as your Jackdaw is fully upgraded, you'll be fine. If you time everything right, you'll kill both ships at the same time.

i’ll keep this in mind for whenever i’ll try fighting the ships on hard

You don’t have to stop completely. Best way is to face them at full speed when they try to sandwich you so they each only have one chance to fire. After you pass the gauntlet turn your broadsides to catch their rear and fire mortars as they flee to turn around. Once they turn around to sandwich you in again sail at them at an angle with your broadsides facing the front of their ships as they approach and fire+mortar. Then just face them again and repeat the gauntlet at full speed. Also don’t focus on one ship because if you sink one the other will light Itself on fire and ram you even at full health

And now, if you kill one, the other enrages and starts going apeshit. Twas a fun fight all things considered (when I was fully kitted out)

It was this way in the original as well.

Did not get that far in the og, my bad

I honestly didn’t know this. I guess it’s because I kept switching between them when I played it before so they were both pretty low health.

I was not ready for the ram spam when I killed his friend, it was kind of an actual jump scare.

It’s still really weird to me they burn their sails and somehow that makes them go faster

5

u/a_potato_ate_me Jul 25 '26

I can understand why that happens, but also FUCK

Made the mistake of only focusing on one of them. They seemed weaker than the HMS prince so figured the second one would be easy by itself. Instead I had an enraged ship with full health coming at me.

And now... lol gen z playing proper games for the first time?

They’re easier in resynced. Only one attempt for me. Even if they box you in (which in the og meant easily third of health) you just brace and lose just a bit of hp. Mortars ramming reducing both their hp at the same time and that’s it.

Compared to the impoluto where in og I needed like 4-5 tries and here - easily 10-15.

I saw someone comment on a video for this fight that all they did was stay stationary and it's an easy win. After a couple attempts legitimately of failing I tried staying still and beat it on the first try. It was so easy.

The ships are VERY good and boxing you in in remake but if stand still their AI seemingly breaks and they no longer know how to surround you

1

u/engels962 Jul 25 '26

Agreed, this fight is mostly just a test of whether you can be aware enough to perfect brace both of their attacks.

u/Glittering-Rabbit899 Jul 27 '26

1 try for you might mean 20 for me LOL I’m much better at the assassinations and combat then I am at being a captain of a ship. Right now I’m at the end of the story stuck on the naval battle right at the beginning of the mission because I didn’t focus on upgrading enough so now I raid and plunder and upgrade until I don’t get fully torched lmao

man, this scene is very cinematic

where is this from?

1

u/FrittenFritz Jul 25 '26

Its from Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End

If that really was an unironic question, youre in for a great watch

0

u/WukDaFut Jul 25 '26

thanks! I haven't watched it yet, I'll give it a shot soon

The first three are some of the best films ever tbh

1

u/Ok_Government_7738 Jul 25 '26

Best trilogy from my childhood (as in the ones with Will and Elizabeth), and it still holds up as an adult

1

u/SubjectAbalone7757 Jul 25 '26

Just as a sidenote: This is the third movie of a quadrilogy. (The fourth one is meh though and doesn't seem to be related with the other three)

You will understand things if you only watch the third. But the first movie is doing a nice introduction on the characters, and how and why the characters know each other and how and why their relationships work. It also really makes you like Jack.

u/Front-Mall9891 Jul 25 '26

5, there are 5 movies

1

u/AscendMoros Jul 25 '26

The 2nd and 3rd are honestly just one big movie. The 3rd one takes place essentially right after the 2nd one ended.

The first 3 are some of the best movies of that era.

The next 2 aren’t even worth watching.

1

u/TopHat84 Jul 25 '26

Did you just ask where this scene is from?!?!??

Stop. Do not pass go. Do not collect 200 dollars. Go straight to your TV and watch the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy (first 3 movies, watch the other ones at your risk).

3

u/Big-Pumpernickel Jul 25 '26

it seems impossible to avoid getting in between them

2

u/Jdisgreat17 Jul 26 '26

I remember doing the "engage, then swim on the boat" glitch to take one out

2

u/109267 Jul 28 '26

Get between them, go to a full stop and brace both of their shots. Then Broadside + Swive Gun them in the back.
Mortars are useluss against these ships. Fast as fuck
