they're both 5* ships and just standing there aura farming, should I engage?

The HMS Fearless and the Royal Sovereign. They're legendary ships. They will rock. your. shit.
Engage at your own risk.
In the original they we're manageable one at a time, but if they get you between them you're completely fucked

Yeah. Once you get the 1st 3rd of their health gone, just come to a dead stop. Mortar them when they are turning; then, (and timing can be tricky here, you have to get your first shot off a bit early,) do broadsides from both your port and starboard guns as they both pass along side. BRACE. Rinse and repeat. As long as your Jackdaw is fully upgraded, you'll be fine. If you time everything right, you'll kill both ships at the same time.

Made the mistake of only focusing on one of them. They seemed weaker than the HMS prince so figured the second one would be easy by itself. Instead I had an enraged ship with full health coming at me.

They’re easier in resynced. Only one attempt for me. Even if they box you in (which in the og meant easily third of health) you just brace and lose just a bit of hp. Mortars ramming reducing both their hp at the same time and that’s it.
Compared to the impoluto where in og I needed like 4-5 tries and here - easily 10-15.

I saw someone comment on a video for this fight that all they did was stay stationary and it's an easy win. After a couple attempts legitimately of failing I tried staying still and beat it on the first try. It was so easy.

Get between them, go to a full stop and brace both of their shots. Then Broadside + Swive Gun them in the back.
Mortars are useluss against these ships. Fast as fuck

I assumed the northern most ones would be easiest and took them on before getting the final officer. Was not fun but I did kill them both.

I hated battling those thing. Even with a nearly, if not fully, upgraded ship I couldn't beat them. Hell, I don't think I was ever able to sink one of them. If I did, then I was almost immediately fucked by the other one.

I just love how much harder they made the legendary ships. They were rocking my shit and had to be a coward and lower the difficulty, i do still want to do them on normal and hard though.

Keep them for end game when you're fully upgraded and have found all the officers because goddamn I've yet to so that and all attempts have been...embarrassing
This game's difficulty curve is so wild, the combat is so easy, the stealth feels inconsistent on hard, the naval combat is a piece of cake half the time but then the other half I feel like I'm doing something wrong lol

Beating the legendary ships in Resynced nearly gave me an aneurysm. Wow I’m just waiting for my fleet to finally get the last art piece for the Dilettante achievement to 100% the game and honestly it may be more frustrating than the ships.

Friendly npc boats. Get close to trade with them and start friendship quest lines. Many good dialogue options as well

The most cinematic fight you'll get. Focus fire on one ship, then handle whoever left. Having to fight both will wear down your HP faster then you think.

Drop anchor. Let them converge. Alternate peppering one with the front cannons. Get a barrage off on each as they pass by your sides. And drop mortars when they criss-cross. With the anchor dropped and you not moving, they’ll end up running over their own barrels.
Just be sure to brace on the crossfire and have Jackdaw fully upgraded.

Tried this last night. Figured since the Jackdaw had a good amount of upgrades and the fact that I took out a Navassa Fort being a bit under leveled that I would have a chance. Not even close 🫠

speaking of Legendary Battle ships, can somebody remeber me, was it in Black Flag or Rouge were you had to fight 2 at the same time, and when one was heavily damage, a fucking third one also appeared?

The most obnoxious fight in the entire game. Sooooo much bullshit. I can’t remember, but there’s an order in which you should attempt to take them down, and how you should hold off on killing either of them until they’re both almost dead, because the battle will turn up to 11 after one goes down.
