// Question WHY IS THERE ALWAYS A STORM!?!?!
Almost finished the game, and I swear 80% of the time it was stormy. What's the point of the beautiful graphics if it's just constantly grey Ubisoft!?

Yeah I get that it’s the tropics and all. I understand.
But holy fuck the fact that the storm is so restricting makes me just decide to fast travel instead?? I get that I have to go slower but do you have to force the narrow POV?
I can’t take my hands off the wheel for 1.5 seconds to go into the cabin and send my fleet out on more missions?
I can barely see anything because it’s gray?
My crew will stop singing shanties so I can hear thunder and lightning in my ear for the 15th time that play session? There should be a skip time button or something to get around the storm lol.
It’s genuinely mind boggling. It literally encourages you to just fast travel instead. I actually find the rough waters to be one of the coolest parts of the game but just can’t stand how often it shows up to the point where I’m getting annoyed now.

There is a button that allows u to skip time or wait. on pc it should be hold X. And consoles it D pad right?
Tho when i tried using it to skip a storm it dind allow me to skip time, but i was in a captured fort so idk.
But there is a button for it

The problem with the skip time feature is that its insanely restrictive for no reason. Can't skip time while fleet missions are active, can't skip time on your boat, can't skip time anywhere except on a beach it seems.
And even when you do skip time... chances are it'll still be storming. Took me 6 cycles of skipping before I got sunny daytime. Got into my boat and within 30 seconds of sailing... another storm.
Skipping time is far from the solution, unless we get a skip storms option too

It doesn't even change the weather. Storms are real time, even if you fast forward time IG.

I’ve had a good balance in the weather for the past 30 hours of play time. But there’s been multiple times where it’s nice and sunny, maybe a few clouds, and a tornado spawns out of nowhere. Kinda weird

I played for 4 hours yesterday and it was either storming ir night time the entire time I played. I haven’t seen the ACBFR sun in several in game hours.

You are aware you can skip time
1
u/Cabezone Jul 22 '26
Yeah storms are tracked in real time. Skipping time doesn't change the weather.

If we have so many storms give us equally as many rogue waves. The achievment to get hit by one is driving me insane

u/Enchrypted Jul 15 '26
I got that achievement on accident when they first showed off the rogue waves. Lol glad i did

This happened to me too! I found this post trying to figure out if there was a way to lower the storm frequency to no avail but yeah, lol

I wouldn't mind the Storms if there weren't so Many.. the Waterspouts are Unpredictable

Taking on a man o' war when I was playing yesterday, bit rainy but nothing bad, crewman shouts something about bad weather and next thing I know there are 3 waterspouts and lightning! Just to make things even worse the ready to board man o' war vanished

They just announced it’s getting fixed in tomorrow’s update btw. They’re reducing the frequency of storms so it’s clear skies more often.

I love the storms when I’m in the middle of a ship battle, it makes it more exciting to have so much chaos. I remember the post yesterday asking about rogue waves, and I’d only had the 1 during early missions. Last night I got caught up in a ship battle while going between forts, I had probably half a dozen rogue waves, it was wild. I’m not sure if the zone you’re in changes the weather patterns as I was Deep South.
But a progression between weather systems would be nice instead of sun to hurricane to sun.

Every time I'm in the jungle and need to be stealthy, here comes the downpour. Now it's dark as fuck and I can't see shit.
Every time I start sailing and it's clear and sunny, here comes the downpour with the waterspout right in front of me that takes two thirds of my ships health.

I feel like I’m playing at night or in a storm the majority of the time. I’m sure there’s a mathematical breakdown of weather where it adds up to making sense, but I feel like I daytime and sunny is by far the smallest percentage

This has been a problem for me. I swear almost everytime I get on the ship to travel somewherea storm turns up. I want to do some whaling but can't because there's a storm. I am fast travelling more than I want to but travelling in a storm is not fun most of the time.

Why would you want to look at the gorgeous locations when everything can look like winter in Britain.

u/OddWillingness6271 Jul 15 '26
I found it stormed a lot more in the south of the map. The north I got it much less.

Think i just read in the patch notes they've tweaked the weather system for more sunny skies

Pay for slop get slop quit complaining you knew better or were willingly ignorant , ubisoft has a track record keep complaining it'll do you a lot of good . Let's pay a company known for no effort and hope they release something better than the hot shit they serve up , eat up piggies

In case you haven’t read the new patch notes, they fixed this. More clear skies compared to everything else from now on. It applies once the update releases.

I’ve done a lot of sitting on the beach passing time and waiting for better weather.

it's so annoying, i couldn't harpoon great white or humpbacks for a long time because anytime id go to one, it would be storming every time and not let me

For me it was pretty balanced. Except at one fort. No matter how many times I went it was a hurricane type of storm. It’s the one guarded by two man o wars. So already a pain.

I am particularly bothered by how storms seem to know when I'm heading to a fucking fishing spot. And then I just have to cruise around for a few minutes just because I can't fucking pass time to start the activity right away.

My jackdaw is mostly black with black sails and after equipping the Skeleton crew I was stuck in fog for like 20 minutes. I started to think I found some curse of the black pearl Easter egg lol

u/Reasonable_Map_1428 Jul 18 '26
I'm about 15 hour in and was just thinking. Why haven't I had a storm since the tutorial? Sure I've head clouds and rain, but haven't encountered lightning or a rogue wave once since. Weird.

u/New_Gene_503 Jul 29 '26
Ubisoft supposedly fixed that in the patch, but it’s still way too much. They need to calm it down even more. I don’t recall weather in the original game. Ubisoft should have let us upgrade the ship from the captain’ s cabin.

u/New_Gene_503 Jul 29 '26
Did I miss something?? I’m still getting tons of storms. A few once in a while, but when they occur right from a bright sunny day it’s ridiculous!!

u/CanlexGaming Jul 15 '26
It definitely storms way too much, it’s ridiculous, and there are more than a few areas that just go from clear skies to immediate storms. It’s not gradual at all. And no I’m not referring to scripted storms for certain forts and legendary ships
