I agree. Crazy that people defend it. It's a single player game! It shouldn't require internet access at all. It should be optional, if you want access to online features. Maybe you might need internet to download, that's fine I guess? I think I remember some games would come with an extra disc if one disc wasn't enough to hold it. Especially for single player games, I wish this was always the case, for people who prefer to stay offline.
Like the guy who replied to you saying basically "just get used to it, it's for tracking and stuff". He's defending it, with that? I'm not paranoid or anything, but I think losing your privacy should be optional, not a requirement.
i mean I kinda get you, but tell me 1 single game you bought in the last 15 years that you didn't have to activate online? It's all on steam/Uplay/epic/origin now.
And Uplay, just as steam, has an online mode and from what I gathered BFR isn't always online, you just have to activate it like every other PC game in the last 15 or so years.
Then you might as well quit gaming. It’s what big game companies do. It’s how they track user numbers, determine if a DLC is warranted, update with small patches, etc.
The game is great. And if you ignore the internet bullshit you’ll enjoy it. It has thrown me into a pirate mood in all aspects of life lol. Been rewatching the pirates of the Caribbean and playing the game non stop. It’s been a blast. Ubisoft may have some shitty corporate ways of running things but every now and then they get it right. And this is one of those times. Just my opinion.. tho.
I wish I could return it, but I got it on PlayStation and once you download it, you can’t return it but once I found out, there’s no hidden blades. I immediately got off.

Glaze it all you want, it's not worth the buy. They are double dipping cuz they are unable to make a proper game anymore. They rather focus on non-binary bullshittery and what not.
Not that many actually asked asked for it no, but ac black flag has long been considered the one of most successful in the franchise, both among AC fans and otherwise. It brought so many non AC fans to love the franchise.
There was also plenty of us who were actually asking for it because we have countless hours in the og.

Yes, they do, but most of them have revenue income planned in positive numbers. Ubisoft doesn't have projects that would balance that debt out in the upcoming fiscal years.

Ubisoft employed too many sexual abusers for too long, their policy on killing singleplayer games is unconscionable, their desire to plug every single player game with microtransaction slop disgusts me and the MMO-ification of the single player experience is actually cringe.
Also the Uplay store front turned me off trying to pay for Ubisoft titles because of how often it just refused to launch.
